Just left a Sacramento Monarchs game and sat next to Ron Artest

Thanks to a certain YB'er I got a courtside ticket to some amazing WNBA action. More importantly I sat next to Artest, his wife and son.

I'll be the first to say, I figured he was a hardass dick, but my God that is one of the nicest players I have met. He smiled and talked to everyone who raised conversation, was actually following the game and just genuinely nice.

I couldn't believe this was the guy who penetrated the stands and knocked a few people out. I have heard he was a nice guy but I am now a fan. I didn't talk to him about a lot but he really just was a cool guy.

Obviously when it's game time it's a different story but he was just having fun. I guess the point of this is to just let other people know that Artest does not equal asshole.

And with 3 minutes left and the Monarchs down 10, Artest was still optimistic about the end result of the game.

Must have been some good tix, I've wanted to meet him. He's been a WNBA fan for a while.

Yeah, 85 dollar seats.

Talking to him you would never think he rushed the stands or came out with a "wtf" cd, he was just a cool guy.

I had $90 seats pre-season to a Kings-Hornets 06. In the 4th quarter, I moved down to the front behind the basket and sat right behind an injured Brad Miller and the VP GM. Some guy I sat next to tried to get Brad to sign his shoes. Let's just say it didn't work out for him.

you're welcome
