Pau Trade Irks Grizz Owner

Excuse me for a moment...as I'm going to take a serious note here and actually discuss a basketball topic. I know, I know, pick your jaw up off the floor.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports released an article today discussing the Pau Gasol donation trade from the Memphis Grizzlies...

And when I say "donation", I use the same term Kobe Bryant used. Yes, Kobe called the trade a "donation"...

Anyway...I've highlighted some of the best quotes from the article...which I found highly ammusing. They also confused me as to how or why this guy even owns a professional basketball team. "That Center..."????!?!?!?! Are you kidding me?

"Is anybody jumping on Popovich in San Antonio because he traded that center to Houston for virtually nothing?" Heisley wondered.

"I don't know if I got the most value," Heisley confessed. "Maybe our people should've shopped (Gasol) more and maybe we would've gotten more, done a better deal. Maybe Chris did call every team in the league. I don't think he did, but maybe he should've..."

"I have no buyer's remorse," Heisley said. "Listen, I can't tell you how many people would tell me, wherever I went in Memphis, 'Get rid of Gasol...Trade Gasol.' And then some of the same people are booing us because we traded him. But I don't mind that. I'm a big boy. I can take it."

So let me get this straight. Apperently, he doesn't confer with his President of Basketall Operations? He listens to fans in the city telling him who he should trade and who he shouldn't? And...doesn't even know who Luis Scola is...

Wow...what a Grade A Organization.
