Taste of Chicago

So far summer has been good to me. I've been in school and working out in Columbus. It feels good to be back here. Im taking biology 101. It has a 2 hour lecture and a 3 hour lab 3 days a week! Im also still working out 4 days a week. Last weekend I went to Chicago for the taste of Chicago and I had a really good time. For those of you who dont know what that is its basically a huge festival in Chicago that has music and food from like 60 different restaurants that you can try. I only gained like 3 pounds even though I couldnt get a lot of food from the taste cause there was too many people. But my weekend was good and now I'm back in Columbus. Gonna get ready to go to class.

Next time you hit up Chicago, check out the Capital Grille and/or Gibson's. Each have great steaks. CG is a bit more fancy; Gibson's is a bit more blue-collar.

What up GO, keep grinding at school. What do you think about us getting Bayless? Or I will say JB? Since legal probably told you guys not to comment on it? How do you feel about JB?

Unos and Duos man, nothing beats the original!

well im studyn for Mcats and Bio is all memorization to be honest. And bio 101 is pretty str8forward as well. Lab is always a joke , if u need labs i got plenty of them.

i think i'm a nerd for actually admitting this, but man i loved college biology. taste of chicago is awesome, but i'm a bigger fan of the restaurant weeks that are in boston, nyc, etc. you should totally try to make those - some of the best prix fine dining out there.

Howdy Gregory. Is Columbus like Akron or Cleveland? I just took a road trip from Racine, Wisconsin all the way to Richmond Virginia and stayed a night in Sandusky. It's pretty crazy to me that you were in Ohio at the same time.. Who would have thought? Later man.

Bio can be rough depending on your instructor. Like the other member said; its pretty much memorization. Get a tutor or get into a study group; they'd be delighted to be studying with Greg Oden!

It is good to see that money did not hit you in the head and that you are still getting education, keep a good work and keep making all blazer fans proud. IS IT OCTOBER YET ?????

Greg - how great is it that you are back in school? Fantastic. The importance of education seems to be minimized in the NBA unfortunately. Enjoy and good luck.

Good luck with your classes!
I know im not good at biology so i hope your a little better!!

Hey Greg. I think its great that you went back to Ohio to finish up school. Could you give me some info about the osu campus, classes, and facilities

wuts up G.O.? first off im really glad ur back in school, i really makes you a role model for younger kids that follow the nba closely. but i have to ask you, why are you doing it? planning for an after nba career or just doint it for yourself?

Biology 101, that's great G.O. Really making good use of your free time, now keep that knee healhy and get those Blazers back in the playoffs. Rock on man!

Hey greg, you know your on the the g-unit album that came out today?? well kinda, tony yayo says something in his lyrics like, "if i fall off i'ma rebound quick, like greg oden" haha how great is that?!?

I've taken a biology survey course in the summer before, and those dense labs can be pretty intense. Oden's not just passing the time with that class.

Everything sounds great Greg, wish you the best of luck this summer with your schedule, thanks for the update.

Have you gotten a chance to meet the rookies yet?

did you get the big turkey leg?

Only gained 3lbs nice you can probably just store that in your big toe.

Ohio State son

hi greg...the taste of chicago is awesome, though i haven't been since the mid-80's...i'm sure it's much better now...good luck in school and just be yourself...go blazers...hope to see you in N.O. this season...your old, old friend, eddie w.

oh yeah...did you see "our" spot on toppstv.com?...my one, and only, claim to fame.

Hey Greg, The Waterfront Blues Festival is in Portland this weekend! You should fly out and check it out! It's a lot of fun!

I went to Chicago to look at Columbia College during spring break. There is this restaurant on the "magnificent mile" or what ever they call it, the street with all those fancy stores. Anyway, along that street is a place called Gino's East. The Pizza is the best, but it takes like an hour to cook. The dough is basically corn bread instead of pizza crust and it's really good. The lady told me the place is like world famous for it's Pizza.

go bucks! i think your blaza's are goin to the playoffs this year! keep leading by example, love that you are still workin on your degree back in cbus.

GO, man it is great to hear you are continuing your education. Bio 101 on top of that, impressive. Keep up the good work.

Happy 4th GO!!!!

Taste of Chicago- AWESOME. Except the fact there are 20 million people there in the park at the same time. Have fun in bio!

Good luck in school and good luck this season bro!

How many guy's would go back to school? Greg, you're the man! Stick with it, chip away when you can. That is downright refreshing. Tear 'em up this year buddy!!

I think that is awesome that even though you are in the NBA you continue to further your education. Kudos to you!

Greg: I played at OSU in the early '60s. No better school in the world. I'm proud to have you continuing your education in Columbus. How's the physical problem? Will you be ready to go this season? Good luck, just don't beat us too badly here in Dallas!!

HI Greg:
This is off the topic but I wanted to ask you a question about when you first found out that you knee was messed up. Just wondering if anybody suggested you getting a second or third opinion on alternatives to surgery? (acupuncture, natural healing etc). The body can heal itself if have the right approach and I keep thinking that you may not have missed the season if you would have considered something else to surgery. I know too late now but I had to ask. I hope you have time to answer because I know your busy with school and working out to get ready for the season. Anyway I think your attitude and personality is refreshing for someone your age that has the world by the balls and I hope you kick some major ass for Portland this coming season.

Hey Greg,
The Taste is always a good time, usually too hot though. I did see you in Columbus last weekend though (I was right beside you when that girl fell over at Lodge) Hope the summer classes are treating you well, and I wish you the best in the upcomming season!

Hi Greg,

Greg,
Congratulations on your decision to continue your education during the off season. You have an exciting NBA career ahead of you, but it is refreshing that you are also laying a solid foundation for what you will do with the rest of your life. I wish more professional athletes had the same wise approach to life that you demonstrate.

I hope you take some time to enjoy your summer, in addition to your studies and your training. Hopefully you will have a chance to enjoy the marvellous summers we have here in Oregon. Endless sunny days, low humidity. Easy access to the mountains and the coast. Sun doesn't set until around 9 p.m. Check it out, Greg. The rest of the year can be very dreary. Please make a plan to enjoy the summer in Oregon while you can.
Best wishes,
Mark

My dad always said, "Now that you have your crown of success, let's see how you wear it," I think you have done a wonderful job of wearing your crown and I hope your mother collabrates with you in writing a book about how she raised such a perfect kid.
