This Week in Philadelphia Athelete Gun Crime

Aaron McKie tried to buy a gun despite being under a "protection-from-abuse" order. I wanted to know more about what this order means, so I checked out http://www.womenslaw.org/laws_state_type.php?id=10027&state_code=PA

This is sad because Aaron is a bit of a hero in the Philly parts - the most successful trifecta athelete (high school, college & pro) the city has had in a long long time. He was a thug who John Chaney pulled off the street and turned into a man. Details to follow, I suppose.

like the title, i think youre wrong. I grew up loving Marvin Harrison, he grew up near me and i saw him a lot, i think hes innocent and is one of the geratest Athletes and men since KG and thats the truth

I appreciate the sentiment - I went to Temple with Aaron McKie and he was an incredible role model when he was there. As far as Marvin, he is the dead last athelete anybody expected to see on the news for any crime related reason. I hope the reports om his case are incorrect but even good people do strange things sometimes. Whether Marvin is guilty or not, he will walk because the victim is unwilling to snitch either way.

it is sad, if you ever go to one of the public libraries right off where Marvin and Black thought from the roots came from ull see brothers name and him, Terrence Isaiah Walker he set a bunch of records once set by marvin and i met the guy, hes so cool. And yea i know hes innocent just from his record but the mans a legend i mean i always say nyc and philly arent that different ones a copy of another, u know they got james brown we got chuck berry we got bill cosby and they aint got jack lol but yea and temple with mckie man thats cool, my cus played at temple he gave up the draft so he could become a doc.

I've never been under a protection from abuse order, but I've heard things. Some of them can be open ended or extended without the defendant knowing about it. I don't know when it was filed, but he might not have known it was still in effect.

Interesting point 4forfour. There is a very live angle here that Aaron is in a dangerous situation from his spouse, and she filed the order to prevent him from legally obtaining a defense weapon.

If Aaron McKie was truly looking to commit a premeditated murder, he knows plenty of people who he can get metal from. If he was the same ol thug from age 17, my suspicion is that he would have already done so and not tried to get a gun by legal means. He will have to prove, however, that he was never served with the protection order.

Rasual Butler charged with flashing a loaded gun. I don't know much about his backstory, other than he is from South Philly and was incredible at LaSalle.
