The Milwaukee Bucks will look to get back in the win column on Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite a 36-point and 11-rebound effort from Giannis Antetokounmpo on Wednesday, the Bucks fell to the Chicago Bulls 118-113. Milwaukee is now 3-5 since starting the season 9-0. If they are going to beat the Cavaliers (12-6), they will need other players to step up, especially with Khris Middleton and Joe Ingles still recovering. One player that Giannis believes has been a big part of the Bucks’ success is Jevon Carter.

Giannis Praises Jevon Carter Following Loss to Bulls

Jevon Carter, who the Bucks picked up lasts season after the Brooklyn Nets waived him, has started each of the team’s 17 games this season. Many Bucks fans may remember that Carter did not see the floor very much in Milwaukee’s playoff loss to the Celtics last season. Carter is certainly making the most of his opportunities right now as he has career highs in points (8.6), rebounds (2.7), assists (3.5), and steals (1.5). He has also earned the trust of Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo:

“He’s proving himself; he’s a capable scorer, capable playmaker. I trust, we trust his decision-making. His ability to make plays for himself and for us. Down the stretch, with the clock running down, we don’t really worry. We trust that he is going to make the right decision,” Giannis said.

When Khris Middleton returns, it will most likely result in Carter going back to the Bucks’ bench. That being said, Carter has truly proven that he can run with the best the Bucks have to offer, and carry the team when needed. It is hard to see him getting buried at the back of the bench again after what he has accomplished so far this season.
