NBA props for Wednesday April 17: Best bets for Hawks-Bulls

Yesterday we got the first two play-in games and tonight we will get two more. The Western Conference was loaded this season and it is a little sad that Steph Curry and the Warriors are gone. That game was not close though and our Davion Mitchell rebounds prop cashed with ease. We got a winner in the first game with D-Lo Russell's assist too, 2-2 with profit.

Tonight the games are interesting, but to be fair, not as exciting. Philadelphia at Miami has a team that made the Finals last season and one that could make it this year. Chicago vs. Atlanta? Well, they can't all be gems.

NBA Props for Wednesday April 17

Buddy Hield More Threes Than Tyler Herro (+170)
Sixers vs. Heat, 7 p.m. ET

This is what they got Hield for, to open things up in the playoffs when defenses clamp down on Joel Embiid. He is making 38% from deep in Philly on the whole, but a lot of that was without Embiid in the lineup. He is coming into this game shooting well, with at least a couple of makes in four straight. Herro is the bigger scorer for sure, but his game is more varied. I was surprised this pricing is so great. My game script is in favor of Philly, in case you were wondering.

Haywood Highsmith Over 3.5 Rebounds (+130)

Highsmith is a classic Miami player. He is a great athlete and plays with some ruggedness. They are going to need that tonight. This is a smidge over his seasonal averages but I like the fact that he was so effective when these teams last met. He had nine rebounds and was a +12 for the game. With Terry Rozier out there are more wing minutes available.

Garrison Mathews Over 1.5 Three Pointers (+120)
Hawks vs. Bulls, 9:30 p.m. ET

Trae Young is back but his scoring has been down since. Mathews is making a career-high 44% of his shots from behind the arc this season and made more than one three in seven of his last eight games. I see no reason for that to change tonight. I don't have a great read overall on this game but Mathews comes in ready to shoot. He was over this number in two of three games against Chicago here.

Ayo Dosunmu to Score 15+ Points (+100)

Ayo has been a favorite of mine this season so might as well give him one last shot, right? He scored exactly 15 points the last time these teams played at the beginning of the month. In February, March and April, his scoring has been over this threshold with his increased playing time. Atlanta will focus on stopping the likes of DeMar DeRozan of Nikola Vucevic, creating opportunities for others.
