Recent Detroit Pistons Player Signs With Team In Israel
USA TODAY Sports

Cassius Stanley was initially the 54th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers.

He played one season of college basketball for Duke and averaged 12.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field and 36.0% from the three-point range.

The 24-year-old most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Detroit Pistons and averaged 5.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.3% from the field in nine games.

This summer, Stanley was a free agent, and Sports Rabbi reported that he has signed with Hapoel Afula

Via Sports Rabbi: "Cassius Stanley has signed with Hapoel Afula for the 23/24 season. The @DukeMBB SG has played with the Pacers & Pistons in the NBA and has featured in the GLeague. Good Luck @cassius_stanley, Welcome to Afula & Israel!"

Over 33 NBA games (with the Pacers and Pistons), Stanley has career averages of 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 36.0% from the field.

In addition to his time in the NBA, he has also played in the G League.

Last year, Stanley averaged 15.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 57.1% from the field and 35.6% from the three-point range in 23 regular season games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (he also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games).

Since Stanley is still so young, he could be a player who returns to the NBA at some point soon.
