Kerr: Draymond Green ‘ties it all together’ for GSW
Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Draymond Green had one of his best games of the season Wednesday night in the Golden State Warriors’ 111-107 win over the Indiana Pacers.

While the veteran no longer stuffs the stat sheet as often as he did earlier in his career, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr explained how Green remains such a critical cog for the team.

“Draymond just ties it all together,” Kerr said to reporters after the win, per NBC Sports Bay Area. “He made some plays tonight that nobody on earth can make, just because of his brain, his anticipation, his physicality. He dug out a loose ball late in the game that he looked like he had no chance at. Nobody else on earth was going to beat him to that loose ball. So Draymond was just tremendous tonight. Hell of a grind-out win.”

Green scored a season-high 12 points and added 11 assists, nine rebounds and three steals in the victory. A few sequences highlighted on social media showcased the intangibles Green routinely brings to the table.

On the season, Green is averaging a paltry 5.5 points per game. However, the nine-year veteran is kicking in 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals and a career-high 8.4 assists for a Warriors team that currently occupies the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference at 18-15.

Then, there’s this amazing nugget about Green’s statistically strange season shared before Wednesday’s game.

While one outspoken NBA analyst hilariously roasted Green last season over his “triple-single” average, it’s safe to say that the Warriors wouldn’t be on the fringes of playoff contention this season without Green’s occasionally obscured contributions.
