to baron...

Baron Davis, we will always be thankful for what you have done here in the bay. You saved the Warriors from a 12 year drought and lead them to the biggest playoff upset in NBA history. We greatly appreciate you and you have to know that no matter what, the bay will always have your back. But honestly, you shouldn't have gotten our hopes up by telling us that you wanted to stay. I know that your home is in LA but you know that Golden State is the only team you really belong on...you promised you would bring us a championship :( it's really going to hurt the Warriors now that you're gone, because you are irreplaceable and there's no other pointguard who would even come close to fitting on the Warriors...you need the Warriors and the Warriors need you. but i hope you find what you're looking for when you go to the clippers. thanks for the memories. you will always be my favorite player

Nice. And I do think he wanted to stay in the Bay area. I don't consider him to be insincere in any way. But it kind of goes both ways. And although the fans CLEARLY wanted him to stay, management kind of sent him the opposite message by not offering a decent long-term deal. And in the end, it is a business (I know, I hate that too), and he has to make a sound business decision. Sorry, though. I know you will miss him terribly, as will others in the Bay Area.

ya maybe he didnt want to, but he did continuously say publicly that he was going to stay

Mullin didn't offer him a contract for 5 years, I'm guessing it was only 3 years, that is why he signed with LA. I'm just as disappointed as you are but from a business perspective he made the right choice for himself and I probably would have done the same thing.
