The Russell Westbrook experience in Los Angeles is not getting much better as the season progresses.
The Lakers guard heard it from his own team’s fans during Saturday’s game against the New York Knicks. Late in the first half, Westbrook pulled up for a wide-open midrange shot and tried to bank it in off the glass. Unfortunately, the shot clanged badly instead, and the Crypto.com Arena crowd began booing him. Even ESPN analyst Mike Breen noted the jeers on the air.
There were loud boos coming down in L.A. after Russell Westbrook, with the Lakers down 19 in the second quarter to the Knicks, hit the side of the basket on a midrange jump shot.
Been a rough night for Westbrook and the Lakers, mirroring a rough season.

It was a horrific first half for Westbrook, who shot 1-for-7 from the field and committed four turnovers. The Lakers fell behind by as many as 21 before taking a 15-point deficit into halftime.
A former NBA MVP, Westbrook has produced some truly ghastly bricks in his first season with the Lakers. Now it appears that Lakers fans are completely fed up with his poor play.
