49ers drive 80 yards to win in MNF against the Cardinals

In one of the ugliest games in recent NFL memory, the San Francisco 49ers and their inept offense drove 80 yards to score a TD to beat the Arizona Cardinals 20-17. 49ers QB Alex Smith connected with WR Arnaz Battle for a 20 yard strike, but Battle fumbled the ball at the 1 and it rolled into the end zone. From there, Arizona had a chance to recover the ball and end the game, but messed it up, and a lucky 49er landed on the pigskin in the end zone. The ruling was that it was a fumble on the 1, so that's where the ball was placed and on the next play, Battle took a reverse in for the game winning score!

Despite the heroics, Smith did little to impress his doubters that he is ready to lead the 49ers to the playoffs, and the offense looked dismal most of the night. If Frank Gore wasn't running for 1st downs, the Niners weren't getting them. Equally as bad was the Arizona attack, with Matt Leinart going 14-28 with 101 yards. It makes no sense because he's got some of the best WR in the game ( Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin) and one of the best RB's in the game ( Edgerrin James). What's the problem with the Cards?

They got so lucky, but I love it.

That is true. Alex Smith couldn't complete a pass past 10 yards

Their were alot of ugly games this past weekend. Hope week two is just as exciting.

As long as the games are exciting towards the end, I guess they'll be interesting.

Great win by the Niners last night.

Loved it.

It was exciting, but weren't we supposed to have an offense this year?
