Asante Samuel to Sign with Saints

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Asante Samuel has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints and Samuel have reportedly verbally agreed to a deal that would pay Samuel the 10 million dollars plus per year that he wants. The former Patriot, who the Eagles have been rumored to be interested in, can't officially sign a contract with the Saints until free agency begins in a few days, so nothing is set in stone.

I would love to have Samuel but its true he will eat up a lot of cap space but you never know! DAMM IT! I WANT IT TO BE FRIDAY!!

i just posted this. i guess he cares more about money than winning....

Come on, they gotta go higher then the Saints. Come on! 3 days left!

go higher than the saints? if it meants 12 million a year forget it...he aint worth it

yes he is

No he's not, ask Arizona what 14mil a year has done to there team....

Read but don't weep for them. I know our FO will not allow a situation like that to occur. To be honest, I'm glad. No fire sale on good to great players because one person soaks up so much cap room.

It's possible that AS's stock dropped a little after the SB. My prediction is that interested teams are keeping an ear to what other teams are going to offer first.I don't think he's going to get as much as he wants. And if he ends up in Philly-say goodbye to Lito.
I don't think he's a done deal anywhere by Friday.

Wow,did I say that? hahahahahaha

no hes not kevin1...theres 1 CB in this league I would have no problem paying 12 million/year to..CHAMP. The only reason Asante will be making that much is because the niners are dumbasses and gave clements so damn much. our money can be better spent elsewhere

Asante samuel is overrated. the saints will have to OVEPAID corners in samuel and david

Let the Saints be the Suckers

good bye asante. RIP.

so if samuels out....who is going to be our BIG free agent?? i dont think there is much hope that we sign a great free agent or trade for one....maybe more average players and one above average...but what gamebreaker can we get?

If this is true, Samuel and McKenzie will be shaken the dreads all year.

Samuel has gone to about ten teams now. He really gets around.

OK so on Saints radio today around 6ish the Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis said on the show that they have never ever spoken to Samuel or any1 related with him. They have no idea why that rumor is going around. So either they are just keeping it under raps or all you Eagle fans can get ya hopes up again or stop dissing him. Hes the best CB in the League for the past 2 years. Only reason why he gets to ask for so much is cuz the 49ers are dumb and gave an overrated CB too much money and he did crap for them. He did crap for Buffalo too. So there ya go

Where are those bunnies? They need to get busy making more Assante Samuels' right now. Going to have to work overtime.

god damn saints. i hate that team, they ruin everything. sean payton is the big dick squeezer in the NFL.

Who said dey gonna beat them Saints???

we beat the saints in the season to block their playoffs hopes, and we will beat them in the race to asante samuels

yea eagles42090 yall did beat us but we didnt deserve to go to the playoffs cuz our D sucked but the year before we beat yall twice.
