Boldin Wont Resign, Not Sure If He Wants A Trade Now

Boldin is pissed!!!!!.....good news for eagles?????

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin, unhappy that his contract has not been renegotiated, said Wednesday he will play out his contract and then leave for another team.

Boldin, whose current deal expires after the 2010 season, said he feels he's been lied to by the Cardinals.

"After last year, I was promised a deal would get done before this season. But the season is here and obviously that hasn't happened. I don't want a deal. People may think I'm being funny, or just saying that to say that. But I'm just tired of it. I'm washing my hands of the whole situation."

Boldin said his unhappiness won't affect his play on the field this year, but that he has no intention of ever signing another contract with the Cardinals.

"My agent (Drew Rosenhaus) has orders not to negotiate," Boldin said.

WHEN ASKED IF HE WOULD PREFER A TRADE AT THIS POINT, BOLDIN PAUSED AND SAID, "I REALLY DONT KNOW."

Boldin said his unhappiness does not stem from the fact that teammate Larry Fitzgerald received a new four-year, $40 million deal in the offseason. Boldin renegotiated his rookie contract in July of 2005, agreeing to a four-year, $22.75 million extension that included a $13.255 million signing bonus.

Even with three years still left on that deal, Boldin believes his performance warrants another contract extension.

"I've earned it," Boldin said. "I don't have to make a case to anybody as to why I'm deserving of a new contract. That's self explanatory."

Even if he wont resign, the Eagles might not have enough cap room for him. Shawn Andrews. B West, and Lito all want new contracts and the Eagles got 19.5 mil in the bank. Plus Runyan's and Thomas's contracts run out at the end of this season, same wit B Dawk I think too. A guy like him would get paid at least 9 mil a year and the Eagles might not have that kind of money if they want to keep their current guys... Plus we got 2 1st rounders and those get paid a ton of money nowadays

wait waaaat?

who ever said shawn andrews wants a new contract.... were do u guys get this garbage... he said he wasnt coming to camp for personal reasons...

Please tell me you don't really believe this personal reasons nonsense.

ok..... y do ppl holdout in the first place?

to make a point... to make a statement.... what sort of statement is he making to philly bout wanting a new contract if he leaves the media out of it... if there was an underlineing message then u know it would have been either leaked or made up by now.... and i havent herd much of anything bout the big kid in the media... and a player of his caliber and age.... u know the rumors would be spreading like wild fire specially on here....

Lito wont be resigned to a new contract. therefore he's expendable. Shawn Andrews wont put a dent in the salary cap. As much as I would like B Dawk to play for the eagles, I am not sure how much longer will he keep playing. He's getting up there in age.

About the two 1st rounders for 09, if you havent noticed, Eagles seem reluctant about drafting in the first round. So I think there's a high possiblity that eagles will also trade those picks away. So w. Lito and two first round picks for 09 expendable, that's more than enough to make a trade for a. boldin.

he would be the only person worth giving up lito for, but i dont think it will happen this year. we have to hope our current recieving corps can do the job

yea maybe next offseason they can trade lito and a pick for boldin.....yea i forgot bout those first rounders but there might be a lot of big contracts coming off the books

if boldin has 2 more years on his current contract its most likley it wont happen this year but could....the cardinals need to realize that hes going to walk when he hits the market so they might as well get something for him, seeing that he said all of this they could be contacting teams now and trying to get rid of him before this season starts because he expressed his unhappiness

yea i agree....better chance for next offseason...but who knows theres always a chance he could get traded during training camp

yeah lito is not getting a new contract and shawn andrews even if he gets one will not get a raise this year where he makes over 3 million dollars its next year where he makes like 750,000 so even with a change there were about 20 million under the cap be west will at most take up abour 4 million more than he already is

Even though trade probably won't happen lets play GM. What do you think it would take to get him. 2nd and 3rd rounder? I wouldnt want to give up Lito

Due to the high demand for premium WRs, it would likely take Lito and a pick (2d or 3d round probably)

Boldin is a top notch reciever who will impact any offense he lines up with. If you guys get a chance to get him if I was your FO I would free up anhy cap space i could to get him to play. Can you imagine the devastation with him McNabb, and Westbrook. Then I would even pick you guys as a favorite to take the SB. If not I would love for Miami to get him. Talk about a step in the right direction for re-building a champion.

I agree 100% with you tshah83...Give up lito... and any pick... We need a #1 receiver... Bottom line.. there is no ifs, ands or buts... The EAGLES have long dough...We have plenty of money to sign B-West, Shawn Andrews, and A Bouldin....

I wouldn't give up Lito;but I would definitely trade the picks. The Eagles don't seem to want to use their first rounders anyway;so they may as well put them to use. I would offer a 1 and maybe a 4 if the Cardinals would go for it.

just a first rounder next year for boldin and a conditional 2-4 the following year

Let's see it boys... we have been played around with too much this year with our wr possibilities...Lets see it happen..

lito wants a trade so we pretty much have to trade him this year.....so what would it take? trade lito and a 2nd for boldin......thats more then enough.....and even though we lose our second rounder, our own 1st will be a low 1st close to a second rounder anyway

ill give them lito and a first round what do you think were gonna get out of those things lito on the sideline and a possible good player or a lights out pro bowl young receiver in his prime who has put up ridiculous numbers with no qb give them whatever it takes if you dont agree you dont have a mind

The time is now the eagles need to make the trade before it is too late. Mcnabb is not getting any younger he is in his 10th. year he deserves a great receive give to him

I agree Anquan would be the man to fill that gap.........the Eagles NEED to try and make this happen.....Boldin is a great athlete, and he would do great in Philly
