Brotherhood is found thru our struggles...

Yardbarkers,

First off, I would like to apologize for missing last week, we had a lot going on with the team, so I was all over the place...Don't think I forgot about you though...It's good to be back.

My message to the team this week is Brotherhood is found thru our struggles, But now we have overcame, it is our time. Take it upon yourself to be better everyday. It was really just talking about adversity. We've been through adversity, dealing with all these injuries, all the ups and downs, and my message is very simple: that stuff pulls champions together. When you go through things like that and you have to fight through it. Once you learn how to deal with those things and you know how to fit people in like 'next man up', the next thing to do is keep moving.

Now it's time for us to grab momentum because the scariest thing ever is when you add confidence and camaraderie with talent. And that's one thing that we have and probably makes us one of the best in the business right now. When you add that together, we'll get on the right road. That's pretty much what my message was about. 5-2 going into the bye is the only thing that matters.

Last week we played well as a defense. I think every year it just shows what our identity is. At the beginning of the year we get all our kinks out very early, and then as the year progresses we get more and more dominant. I think last week really showed, as a team, defensively once we get up on anybody it's going to be hard for teams in this league to just try and come back on us. So I think last week was a big win to getting back to what our true identity is, which is running the football and doing the things we're supposed to be doing and playing hard-nosed defense.

My Message of the week.

Ray, I love the inspirational photos that you post. Keep 'em coming.

Good luck against the Bills and stay healthy. When you're on the sideline in Buffalo and it's cold, just remind yourself how warm it will be in Arizona at Super Bowl XLII.

Go Ravens.

75 and sunny?

At 5-2, the Ravens become Superbowl contenders. I think you guys are experienced enough, tough enough, and good enough to take on the Patriots. But really, as long as my Ravens D performs for me, my fantasy team is set.

75 and sunny? In Buffalo? In late October!?!

Wow.

"I think you guys are experienced enough, tough enough, and good enough to take on the Patriots."

I have a policy to never bet against Ray Lewis. That said, I think a lot of it depends on whether or not Brian Billick can stick to what works: running the ball and playing defense. He seems pretty hot and heavy on the idea of putting a more balanced offense on the field as opposed to sticking with Baltimore's "true identity," as Ray puts it.

Billick should give McGahee the ball, let him chew up the clock, and then let Ray & Co. do their thing.

Every team in the NFL is good enough to play the patriots, that is why it is pro football. Beating them..that is a different story! ;)

That is what I like about football best. Defense. I can appreciate a good defense, and I will always favor a team that has good defense over a team that has good offense. I am not too sure why, it is not like I know any of those guys out there plowing people over. It just SEEMS to me like a defense has to work with passion, because, unlike on offense, where a couple guys can get recognized because of a play, or get yards on the offensive line holding guys back, the defense usually has to play as a whole. Ofcourse a whole team has to play as a whole to win, but a defense will truly stand out when they are passionate about their position. The Ravens defense reminds me of as a passionate team as some of the past great defensive teams. Good words thanks Ray!

Love ya ray, but my Bills could really use a win thats not the Jets =]

Just reading through some of your older posts and now this one, I think you could have a career in motivational speaking when you're done with football.

I'll be at the Buffalo game Sunday. I'm bringing two jerseys!! Although Baltimore is my favorite team in the league, Buffalo is my home team and I have to show some support for them too. I read a little about your knee and how you are expected to play, but that it wasn't definite. I hope to see you either way. Have a great game, if you play, and stay healthy.

Ray, there is one record left for you to break- No team has had its starters miss 56 games of more, combined and gone on to win the Super Bowl. The list of injured players this week looks as long as my son's Christmas list; yikes! Best of luck-Tim

Ray glad you could blog before the game!!! Las week was incredibly awesome for thr defense and Kyle Boller was pretty talented too..... better than mcnair has been so far. i do know he is hurt tho, and ur right when he gets better it will only make him stronger... ur blogs are always my advice for the week ray!!! good to know this week has been busy tho! i was wondering why none of you ravens weren't blogging! i was getting worried..... how are the injured playrs doin today?

Tough loss to the Bills. It is a tough season so far. But I know you will hold this team together through feast and famine. So many teams start to point fingers. But the Ravens bond cannot do this with you at the helm, the glue holding this ship together. No matter what, we shall always be behind you, trying to hold you up, as Raven fans thats all we can do.

As the old saying goes "Keep chopping wood."

Paul, England across the pond, not New England.

Just to let you know we the UKRavens will all be wearing our Raven colours for the Giant/Dolphin game at Wembley London this Sunday. We are even trying to get a photo with "Goose" as he's covering the game on the sidelines.Check us out at UKRavens.co.uk we bleed purple and black from 3000 miles away bro.And we were at M&T last year giving the Raider tailgaters hell with songs such as,"Do you think you are Cleveland in disguise."

I enjoye dmy first Raven's game Yesterday thanks to a friend of mine and a team mate of yours...Sorry you guys lost......but I still had an amazing time.
