Colts' Safety Bob Sanders Named AP's NFL Defensive Player Of The Year

"The Peyton Manning of the Colt's Defense", nicknamed "The Eraser" by Colt's Coach Tony Dungy, was a key reason that the Colts allowed a league low 262 points. Sanders received 31 out of 50 votes. Seahawks' DE Patrick Kearney and Titans' T Albert Haynesworth tied for second.

I didn't realize the Colts gave up the fewest points this year. That's pretty amazing considering where they were only 2 or 3 years ago.

Yeah, he might be the most important player on any team in the league. Manning never won a championship without Sanders, and we saw what happened last year when he was hurt and when he came back. I believe they gave up the most rushing yards in NFL history in the reg. season last year, which to many might seem irrelevant for measuring a safety but he is a main stopper on the run in the Colts D. I don't think you can argue against this one. Congratulations Bob

deserved it...nastiest hitter and run-stuffer pound for pound in league

Got to roll with you on this one. Maybe he and Rodney.

Sanders is young and in prime...Harrison top 20 hitter at best and slowing down...but seasoned in big games...BB dreams about having another young Rodney in Sanders...I can't believe Sanders is only 5-10

Is he even 5'10? Lots of power and speed in that little body. Energizer bunny. I haven't heard anything on Antonio Gates yet. Wonder if he's going to play?

Gates?...keeping quiet on that injury SD is...sound familiar?...don't think it matters with or w/o Gates...Colts will roll in that game...too much Peyton

JSanders might be 5'8" or 5'9"

BSanders...thinking of our poor man's Bob Sanders, James Sanders

Let's see. Bob Sanders? Isn't that a restaurant, too? I think I remember seeing those in Florida or somewhere out east. Now that's getting off of the subject. Will be interesting to see if Harrison comes out full speed in this game, too. They have been doing such a good job without him, it's scary to know that he may be back full speed to that offense.

off subject, tangents happen...Bob Sanders is a country cooking chain in the Midwest I think...Harrison will play going forward and will be locked down on SD...that's gonna be a crap blowout game, but a big INDY statement

or are we thinking of Colonel Sanders?...whoever gets stuck by BSanders should be calling him Colonel if they get up

oh, it's Bob Evans Restaurant...just popped into my head
