Donovan Mcnabb (Kolb can wait)

"I hope i can stay here in Philly for about 5-6 more years"-donovan mcnabb. Yeah I hope you can too. I believe Mcnabb is a top 5 quarterback WHEN HEALTHY, but he's not injury prone by any means. When you surround him with a good reciever, what do you get. 30+ td's, less than 10 ints'. first ever QB to do so, and a trip to the super bowl. When you surround him with a decent reciever (Stallworth) you get an MVP type season and a 95.6 passer rating. All those years he never had a reciever and he led us to the playoffs every year. He's as close to a one man team as it gets. He can do it all, run, pass, whatever we need. even last year our TE went down, and we're left with reggie brown and kevin curtis, who have trouble getting off presses, he still posts a 90.0 passer rating. now these guys can be good, with a great surrounding cast. If we insert Korn on the Kob, we will need an amazing line and recievers. I like Kolb, kid put up good #'s, but Mcnabb is way better and will be for 5-6 more years. He'll never be as good as Mcnabb, and everyone seems to think he'll be our QB next year. The thing is, he's not a playmaker, and he'll need a line to block and good recievers to get the ball to, and a b-west type player. Mcnabb never had that, he made plays without anyone, and made terrible recievers (pinkston anyone?) look like somewhat decent ones. keep mcnabb until he loses his mobility, get him a decent reciever, and i believe he can take the eagles to the promised land.

Well said!!!! We are they only city that would even think of getting rid of a pro-bowl QB for a unknown QB. ( QB that has never played one down in the regular season.) It's like I said in another article "Why do we all ways try to get rid of our star players thinking that it will make us better.

actually Kolb played four pathetic downs in the Game against Detriot last year!

That's right the blowout game.

good write up!! I think Mcnabb is the 3rd best in the NFL when healthy behind Brady and Manning. He should retire an Eagle and if he doesn't get that chance for an unknown like Kolb then that would be fu@#ed up. The man has done nothing but win in this town!!

I ALSO BELIEVE IN MCNABB,I HAVE SEEN WHAT HE CAN DO AND IS A OUTSTANDING QB. MOST OF HIS CAREER HE HAS DONE IT BY HIMSELF.THE YEAR HE PLAYED WITH OWENS AND STALLWORTH WERE OUTSTANDING. AS FOR KOILB THE LAST 2 QB'S OUT OF HOUSTON WERE ANDRE WARE AND DAVID KLINGLER I THINK COMBINDED THEY WERE IN THE NFL LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE A CUP OF COFFIE. IF AND WHEN THEY GO WITH KOLB THAT O' LINE BETTER PLAY GREAT,HE LOOKED LIKE A WOODEN INDIAN IN THE POCKET

I've said it once and I'll continue to say it again. I am a huge supporter of McNabb and I have been since his days at Syracuse. People want to criticize him, saying he's injury prone or he doesn't have it any more. Yes, he has been injured, but when healthy, the guy flat out makes plays. You could see signs of it during the last 3 games of the season and even then he wasn't healthy.

Like joyner said, look at the years he had when he play with Owens and Stallworth. Ok, so with Stallworth he didn't play a full season, but Stallworth isn't really considered to be a number 1 receiver.

I think it would be a travesty if the FO were to push Donovan out and plug Kolb in. I'm not saying that Kolb would be horrible, but I don't think he could fill Donovan's shoes.

by the way, i meant kolb had good #'s in preseason
