Don't sleep on Todd Watkins

Who is Todd Watkins? Todd Watkins was a free agent Wide Receiver that the Raiders claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons. He spent the majority of 2007 on the Falcons practice squad. This provides you some background; still doesn't answer the question.

To answer this question we need to go back a little further. In his early years of high school athletics - Todd Watkins was a multi-sport athlete at Helix High School in San Diego, California. He lettered in football, volleyball, soccer and track; he was the first athlete in 25 years to accomplish that feat at Helix High.

As a football player, he earned All-County Honors during his junior and senior seasons. His teammates included current NFL stars Reggie Bush and Alex Smith; the team won the 2000 San Diego Section Division II CIF Football Championship. His teammates had scholarships and were off to USC and University of Utah.

Watkins wasn't as fortunate and enrolled at Norfolk State but redshirted during 2001 season. He later transferred to Grossmont (California) Junior College and played in 10 games during the 2002 season.

NICE write up, this is for all my bay area peeps or any raiders fans, enjoy ;0 !!!

Can't WAIT to see what he's going to do.
I am starting to get really excited for the season. Now all I need is a job where I don't have to work Sundays....

I love the YouTube clip. Dude has game and has something to prove. Thanks for sharing ck0712

no problem!! glad you enjoyed it, that's u & raider dave!!!

I happy that several people enjoyed the story, I wrote the story for the Bleacher Report. I've watched him play and feel that he is a talented guy with something to prove. There are no guarantees but all you can ask for is a shot and he has one as a deep threat which the Raiders need. I want to really thank you for noticing the article and sharing said article. I truly appreciate it. I've been a Raider fan for years and I will drop an article or two in the Yard!

i LOVE the bleacher, one of my fave feeds !!! thank U for doing the original article!!!!!!

I apologize for not answering in a timely manner, I'mjoined by Zack Crockett in the photo after almost losing my voice attending the 2006 Raiders vs. the 'burgh game. A very good friend set up a meeting and he showed up and I was blown away. No camera's, no press, no scripted interview but it was a wonderful conversation and a great un-scheduled Raiders experience.

no problem!!! do we have another one of your awesome blogs to look forward to, out of this meeting LOL!!!!

Let's hope he makes the team! J-Russ needs a few good strong, reliable targets to throw too! The kids got good pedigree no? Good stuff ck!

GO RAIDERS!

I agree RaiderDave63! I hope he does he has a shot to show the coaching staff what can do.

ps - I think that is really what russell needs is someone he can throw long to. The peices are falling into place for us. :-D

that is exactly what tommy said lol!!!

thank u, i just propped him!!!

According to Raider beat writers Todd Watkins is continuing to make me look good by catching every pass thrown his way.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!! perfect!!!!!!!!
