Is LT making a comeback?
No, not Lawrence Taylor, but Lawrence Timmons. Lawrence Timmons is the pass rushing outside linebacker from Florida State which Pittsburgh drafted 15th overall in this years NFL draft. Is this LT the second coming of an uncontainable hall of fame sack machine or Huey Richardson? The 1991 first rounder registered no statistics in all of four games for his entire career in Pittsburgh. Hearing Timmons in recent interviews just doesn't give me that excited to begin my NFL career feeling. The good news is that second round pick Lamarr Woodley from Michigan has been on fire in camp thus far. I hope LT version 2008 can bounce back from this unimpressive non-start. Pittsburgh has done great with first round picks in recent years so I'll reserve a more permanent opinion for when the games count and Timmons actually suits up. You have to go way back to 1999 to find Troy Edwards and 1996 with Jamain Stephens to find first round busts in Steeler history, so maybe they are just due. I can only hope we get to see him more than Huey Richardson, that is if he suits up.
