JUST A THOUGHT ABOUT THE EAGLES SECONDARY...

i liked micheal lewis, but there is a reason he isn't here anymore. He actually lost his job 2 considine, he played LB occasionally.

I thought he left because he wanted that big pay day that the Eagles are notorious for giving their players.

Michael Lewis sucked. There is a reason he got benched then cut. I'm glad he's gone.

"Q" is young and he's already made some big plays and has a lot of potential. I'll take "Q" over Lewis anyday.

Q hasnt played really. How would u say u want Mikell over Lewis, when Lewis has shown what he can do? He was a decent SS nothing more. Mikell could be a bust.

I thought he played well last year filling in for Dawk last year. He's not the big hitter Lewis was but he's faster and I think is better in coverage. Remember this play against the Chargers a few years ago?It was on special teams, but tit was badass!

That was awesome, I was in the endzone that matt ware ran it back on. It was so crazy. Hes a good special teamer dont get me wrong. I think Michael Lewis was a good player until his last yr 1/2 when he blew all coverages. We will have to wait and see this yr.

Any1 think maybe Reed should be starting? He hits like an animal.

Lewis was a great hitter and awesome in run support but was not a cover guy. That was definitely his downfall and probably the main reason the Eagles didn't try and keep him around. He got a nice contract from the 49ers and really didn't improve that defense much. The Eagles really like their players to be diverse and to be able to adjust to different situations and he just couldn't do it. SS has been a position that we've had a carousel of players at but I think that we're pretty solid when it comes to depth now. Quentin Mikel is a nice player that gives his all on every down, I also like JR Reed at the position as well. In my opinion he kept the Eagles Vs. Pats game alive on D with his help on Moss and big hits. I'm going to be pretty surprised if he doesn't make this team..

Lewis wanted a big contract and the eagles didn't not want to pay up because he was a liability in coverage. He was OK, better than roy williams, but was not up to par for the money he wanted. I liked lewis because he was great against the run, but i think that mikell may end up being better

i like Mikell. I mean mike lewis was good too dont get me wrong but it just seemed like that he didnt put in enough effort in his last year so they didnt renew his contract cuz of it

Lewis struggled because, while he was listed as SS and Dawk as FS, Lewis more often than Dawk picked up a deep WR. That was a problem perhaps with the coaching choice than with the personnel. Or maybe personnel problems spawned that choice by johnson; maybe Dawk was really struggling on deep routes? Anyway, the big-hit SS is giving way to the two FS-like safety pair and those safeties are more and more like CBs. Everything is getting faster and lighter and the TE position grows ever more important as a result.

no way micheal lewis was just like Roy WIlliams on the Cowgirls can deliver big hits and solid tackler but gets beat deep too often and have faith Mikell has been in this defense awhile and played pretty good last year thats why i took the eagles d in my fantasy league because the secondary is gonna be awesome and trent cole is gonna get alot of sacks Eagles in 09
