Lions refuse Eagles trade offer

As the draft gets closer, the rumors about Detroit Lions wide receiver Roy Williams heat up. We can also thank GCobb.com for that. Former Philadelphia Eagles player and current radio analyst Mike Quick said there should be news on Williams this week. Garry Cobb, a Philadelphia (key word) media personality, reports "that means the Cowboys, Redskins or the Eagles will probably wind up with the receiver." Is any of it true?

Well its the FO of the Lions that dont want to let him go... if that is the same for Cincy and like it was mentioned Anquan Boldin well they are all gonna suck in there perspective teams....

Last time i checked The Eagles did a butt whoppen to the Lions thats probably why they dont want to trade... LOL

Cincy is gonna bury itself deeper in its own grave --- different story....

Arizona had the same record as us but we are still a more stablized and balanced team that u dnt want to mess with

All this is pissing me off LOL what ever happens happens i just hope that the Eagles Mop the floor this yr with all these teams to prove a point...

The eagles will always be in the win-win situation regardless...

ALL SPECULATION, don't waste our time. You say, pro football.com says, gcobb.com says, that Mike Quick "thinks" - I don't need it! They're all sleeping with each other and using each other as sources to spew the same nonsense over and over again. Eventually one of their guesses will pan out, and they'll be the first to let us know. Do some research first.

hey thats how rumors go, no different then sports talk radio, or the local newspaper. thats why in the end rumors are what they are , and nothing is ever fact (no matter how much research is done), till a trade is official or a player signs that dotted line. till then no one knows.

Correct, but it's not a license to report wishful thinking as "news".When a philly paper runs a column that is pure speculation it is not disguised as a factual story supported by "insiders", unlike GCobb.com.

Hey hbking17, I thought this was a blog site. If you do not "need it" then do not read it. I thought the post was fine....that is what the site is for. Your post was a waist of time! Stop being so critical. Not a soul on this site, and I mean nobody knows what the future holds. It is all speculation, rumor, and wishful thinking and I do not mind it. It is people like you that can not see that the purpose of this site is conversation and passing on information even if it comes from a source you do not like. So thanks so much there blog police but it is not for you to decide what is worth posting and what is not. He has sources so what is the problem

I agree that most of the talk is nonsense and that many just wait for something to pan out and then claim they were the first to get it but I wouldn't consider Mike Quick one of them. How often have you heard Quick mentioning anything regarding trades? Not saying he has merit but he is not GCobb or pfb.com who churn these rumors daily.

to true... i've been waiting a while to post on all these roy williams rumors, but now that there were some against figured it was time to add my 2 cents, since we have rumors from both sides. i think boldin would come cheapest thou and be just as productive as williams here

Here's my two cents: Boldin wont be an Eagle.

yea i don't see it happening either, but with current bargaining chips i think he's the biggest possible #1 they can obtain... then again i could be surprised and they pull off a blockbuster

ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, chance anything will happen 0.000000001% chance nothing will happen 99.99%

thats a pretty bad percentage ratio but saying theres basically zero chance that NOTHING at all will happen in the week leading up to the draft, with a team who has 11 picks, a pissed off pro bowl corner when healthy, and obviously looking to upgrade the WR position. Id say its the oppostie that SOMETHING will happen, not saying roy or chad but something. maybe anquan maybe someone noones been mentioning...something is sure to happen

the truth is, no one knows.. but I tend to think anything is possible.. I just can't wait to see what happens... I'm taking everything with a very small grain of salt until the clock hit zero after the final pick in the 2008 NFL draft..

that fact that detriot wants to keep roy williams is no suprise to me,instead of trading a guy with one year left on his contract who will leave for to become free agent, its just like the cards with larry fitzgerald,a team with 2 #1 wide outs that are a last place team- both of these teams will always be loosers because of the moves they make and also the ones they don't make. remember the field day kevin curtis had against the lions at the linc, they need a corner bigtime but are just to stupid to make the moves to make them a winning team....both teams will nevergo any where in the NFL

Hey joyner56fan i totaly agree with you... Both those teams are so focused on the offensive side of the ball which isnt in itself bad per say... but Defense wins championships and we got a way better Defense than those 2 teams combine and there a young defense... but hey It isnt like our offense isnt promising-- im not saying i dont want A Great WR for our team as well but like i have said a billion times what ever decision we make come by or during the draft its going to be a win win situation for the Philadelphia Eagles and will pay dividends at the End...

Our defense will take a load off our offense and since we are healthy and added some playmakers and some players on offense we should be smooth sailing

I don't think Detroit is dumping Roy, In the last 6 years they have picked 4 top 10 wr's. Calvin Johnson #2,Mike Williams #2,Roy Williams #7 and charles rogers #10..Only one so far has been productive... I know Calvin johnson was picked just last year and hurt... But so far....

I dont think they would be willing to part ways with the only pick at the WR position that has actually paid dividends for them. Maybe if Mike Williams or Charles Rogers had paned out they would be willing to let Roy go.

I predict the Eagles will draft players and possibly make a trade. Heard it here first - don't forget.

All teams are going to refuse the offers they get right now.

Normally if a team has a player to trade they will wait until its as close to the draft as humanly possible, like a day or so before the draft, or even during the draft itself. Like the Eagles are doing with Lito and like I think the Bengals are doing with chad and possibly what the Lions are doing with Williams.

GCobb has no credibility at all. Now that Quick has admitted that he had no information regarding Roy Williams and that he just had feeling that the Eagles would go after the Lions WR, GCoob looks like a complete fool.

GCobb also said that the Cowboys or Redskins would try to get Williams as well. This guy just makes stuff up and reports it as news. He's a fraud. He's a hack. He's a small-time nobody who has ruined his own reputation. People are simply laughing at how pathetic he is as a reporter.

He doesn't even have the courage to admit that he was wrong.

This incident will define GCobb for quite some time. His name is now synonymous with fake, counterfeit, impostor, deceit, imitation, phony, and deception.

It does not matter who the eagles get they wont make the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just glad the rumors are about trading for a receiver,,,, instead of trading Mc Nabb. That would be the worst move in frachise history. When he does win it all for us..... A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL OWE HIM A BIG APPOLGY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Now let's get him what he needs to get it done ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! !
