Lito Sheppard trade update!

ESPN's John Clayton reports that three teams are showing serious interest in Eagles CB Lito Sheppard.

Clayton knows that the Rams are one of the teams, despite the appeal of a drug test Fakhir Brown won on Monday. Sheppard will likely cost at least a second-round pick. The Rams' second-rounder is 33rd overall.

33rd overall pick sounds good but Andy will want more for Lito(but then again, who knows)! To much noise is behind the Eagles so I expect big moves this weekend!

Hell yeah man, nice article... Good find..

I don't think many people would be upset with getting a pick that high...thats practically another first rounder. Think of the players that might be sitting there at 33...Hardy, Sweed, Phillips, Cherilus...never know who will slip just out of the 1st round, and since its technically a 2nd round pick...less $!

I agree with you DTRIK the 33 spot is practically a first rounder and Andy has to keep in mind that Lito has been injuried alot and his value has slipped.

33rd overall is a great pick. Any pick in the top 50 is a solid pick and getting this pick will give the eagles 3 in the top 50. I think that you might see the eagles also asking for another late round pick in the deal as well, you know big red likes stock piling those draft picks, it gives him more amo to make another trade....

33rd is value.. i like it. Andy may want another pick but we would only trade it away.

Birds have 11 picks. they can not sign 11 players, they don't have enough money under the cap, plus, 11 players would never make the team.

When they trade lito they will get 2 more picks. 13 total.

We will most likely see the eagles package those late round picks to move up this year. or for higher picks next year

They have plenty of $ to sign 11 rookies so you're wrong on that one. Fact of the matter is they WON'T sign 11 players simply because they don't have the roster space. Money isn't the issue with rookies though since only the first-second round picks command any money and thats not even a huge amount.

maybe they have the cash to sign 11 unproven players. But would they ever do it? it would be a waste of money... and it wouldn't leave them with much if any $$$ to extend contracts this year. Something we all know the birds love to do (see Lito Sheppard).

but i agree. Roster space would be the biggest issue.

bottom line. the birds will look to package picks to move up this year, or get higher picks next year

Right thats why I said they won't do it
