Lysol Picks The Winners! v2.0
After an unsavory 2-3 start, I vow to roar back this week: Lesgo!
1. San Diego at Kansas City. This should be only slightly more competitive than Redskins-Colts, and I needed a fifth game. These teams play each other twice a year, Arrowhead's a bitch to play at, KC needs a win, etc. San Diego doesn't roll over Kansas entirely in this game, but they run away with it when the Chiefs' defense dissolves in the second half. Two injured tackles will give the Chief's a fighting chance at getting to Rivers, maybe a couple of Allen sacks. Chargers 35, Chiefs 21. 2. Carolina at Cincinnati. Levi Jones out for Cincy, look for a lot of Carson going down. I don't think the Bengals can get much done with Antonio Chatman as their third receiver in this offense. But I can't believe the Bengals aren't mad, and won't come out and make this a game. Carolina rolls on. Panthers 31, Bengals 21. 3. Pittsburgh at Atlanta. Both of these teams need this win, probably Pittsburgh more than Atlanta. Atlanta is banged up on the defensive line, Pittsburgh on the offense. Vick can work wonders at home, but he's busted at the shoulder. There goes passing. This one could get ugly, and Pittsburgh loves ugly. Steelers 23, Falcons 13. 4. Minnesota at Seattle. This won't surprise anyone who has read me before, but I don't think Seattle has this one in the bag like it would appear. The Vikings just might blow this one out of the water. Seattle won messy last week, but I got a gut feeling ... not founded on anything, but I'm going for it: Vikings 38, Seattle 21. 5. New York Giants at Dallas. A real jewel of a game, hopefully. Or will familiarity breed attrition? These games always speed up at the end after a grueling first half. I again go with grudges and stick with the team I like. Plus, another Dallas loss will create some interesting drama: they can't take many more, really. So I say Drew throws 4 picks and gets benched in the 4th quarter of a trouncing. New York gets up early and keeps it that way. Cowboys will wish Tiki had retired last offseason. Giants 41, Cowboys 21.
