Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Line Analysis

On a more positive note... there should be a real competition at that left guard spot with Jean-Gilles trying to take over Herreman's spot. We will have another solid line for another year for the run. Lets just hope they can protect McNabb a little bit better.

Pretty good analysis (original linked story). The Eagles OL shoud be better this year up the middle, and has good depth at OG, but they are still overly reliant on Tra at LT. Should Runyan slip, there are several competent RTs on the roster - Andrews, Justice, possibly McGlynn - but no one who can handle LT. The second area of concern is C - Jackson has to play better. McGlynn could challenge him this year (and also possibly take over LS duties, freeing up a roster spot).

We do have a competent LT...his name is Todd Herremans...you may recall hes a natural tackle who slid in due to need. Remember when he filled in for Tra in 2005??? Did a helluva job

The line is fantastic and will be for years to come...this is one area where Andy actually knows what he is doing. Andrews, Herreman's, and McGlynn can each play either Guard or Tackle. MJG is going to be a stud. Hopefully we can retain Tra and Runyan, but if not we'll be fine. Jackson is solid and does a fantastic job with little recognition.
