Saints Running Backs...who is worth more Fantasy Weight?

I recently was put in a trade scenario where myself and another manager in my league were going back and forth with possible trades. I guess we both knew we wanted something that the other had but the question is....what is fair....what gets me ahead? Or how do I make sure I stick this guy with a loser down the road.

I have had Deuce Macallistar this season so far and he's probably been the strongest player I never knew I had on my team. Now this is my first year at Fantasy Football and I don't really know what I'm doing so it's always a numbers game and trying to read up on the articles while filtering out the hype.

I've been trying to pick up a better WR recently and was willing to trade one of my mediocre recievers Muhammed or Randy Moss. I had a feeling I should hold onto him but since the deadline for him to go to New England passed today, It looks like I should have tried to pimp him out earlier today. Anyway, I got Plaxico Buress for Muhammed who is slightly better in the numbers so I don't really care about that one.

My dilema is I traded Muhammed and Deuce for Buress and Reggie Bush and I can't decide for sure whether that was a good trade......

My thoughts are Reggie's numbers are slightly better, also, he's younger and Deuce just hurt his hamstring and is old so maybe he will get hurt soon.....but Bush is struggling on getting touchdowns so it's kind of a toss up.

What do you think?

If you receive points per catch than Reggie Bush has some serious value. If its a yardage based league, than McCallister has more value than Bush, at least to this point. However, Buress is a much better player than Muhammad. He's Eli's go to receiver and is usually good for one deep catch a game which more often than not ends up as a touchdown. I'd rather be on your end of the deal than on the other owner's.

Well the other owner is undefeated in our league so he must be doing something right....but hopefully this is his slip up that I need. Thanks for the feedback!

McCallister is definitely the way to go. Forget about receiving yards or rushing yards. Let's talk pure touchdowns- a common denominator in all leagues. Reggie Bush has only scored 1 TD all year, and that was on a punt return. Bring home the big Deuce!

I like the deal you made. Burress is a better bet to have continued success and Bush gets enough touches to not worry about TD's that much (in fact you may have bought low because he hasn't scored).

Next time, post your question before you make the trade, not after. That being said, you definitely come out ahead on the WR side but behind on the RB angle. As you noted, if Deuce gets hurt, it plays out in your favor, but who can predict that?

I can predict that. Buy low, sell high. Deuce is on a hot streak and it won't last. They are using Bush to punch holes for Deuce and eventually I think Bush will be running in. Either way Bush is ahead in points in a my league because we get points for yardage so that on top of getting the better WR I think I'm going to be good to go when the Saints are back next week.
