Taylor-made Split? Dolphin Won't Attend Workouts Or Training Camp

DAVIE, Fla. -- For those Miami Dolphins who did not watch Jason Taylor perform on "Dancing With The Stars" this offseason, they missed out.

And it has nothing to do with Taylor's runner-up finish to Kristi Yamaguchi in the popular program's season finale Tuesday night.

It appears the defensive end version of Jason Taylor will be dancing solo for a while now that he and the Dolphins have split.

The Dolphins will not see Miami's star defensive end at any offseason workouts, including training camp when it opens in July, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said at a news conference Wednesday.

Doh! We kinda saw this coming didn't we? If anyone was reading between the lines.

By the way, wherever he goes, I hope he KILLS!

Well, let's see. Parcells and the Cowboys are pretty tight. Could he be dancing in Dallas next season? Stay tuned.

I hope not Fiverings.

Haha........I guess we'll see how much money he wants. I can't see him getting a long-term deal done, can you?

No, I can't.

Think it will happen quickly?

Oh, I don't know whether he will come here or not. I think he wants too much dough, but it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. I would instantly make the Dallas defensive line pretty good.

There's a thread talking about him going to Oakland - wouldn't THAT be something? I have a thing for those bad boys (he he). Btw, saw where a few folks were getting kind of heated with you on other threads. What's up with the hostility? Yikes.

Sometimes , they don't like to hear the truth. You know how some people get when they are challenged? I'm not going to let anyone run roughshod over this boy. I wasn't raised that way. Know what I mean?

Taylor to Oakland? Hmmm......they could use him.

Yeah... if you can tame a "mean redhead' folks on the threads have no chance with you.

Just Cowboy haters. I can deal with most of it, but I don't like it when it gets personal. I guess they can't read the fine print below. If they want to make it personal, then they better be ready to take it was well as dish it out.

Most of the YBN population is philly fans so any Cowboy fan is Public Enemy #1! I am NE so I am #2....

Yeah.......that's true. Got that target on our backs.........LOL.

Jason, it is time to swim up to NE. We will keep you warm.

Maybe he can dance his way up there. Doesn't look like he's going to play another down in Miami.

ha ha. Dance, swim, whatever...He can join the Boston Ballet for all I care, just as long as he keeps up those sacks!

Pinkpanthrr, we're not too far behind. Philly hates us too. What blows my mind is so many Philly fans are so happy the Patriots lost in the superbowl but they are actually celebrating a division rival's victory. I have never seen that before in sports. Rivalries are crazy in Beantown. You would never root for your hated rival to win the big game. I would never root for the Yankees or the Lakers in a championship game. So many people in Philly rooted for the Giants. I guess there are no rivalries in Philly. Fiverings, Why isn't the passion there in Philly? Is it because of the Cowboy dominance?

Oh, the passion is in Philly, they just had some bad luck. On the other hand, I've never seen fans turn on their team when it's doing bad than Philly fans. I'm not sure about any dominance. As I am clearly reminded of time and time again, we haven't won a playoff game in 12 years. The Pats are in a position to claim dominance because of their recent run of Super Bowls.

I say dominance because I was used to seeing the Cowboys win superbowls during my youth and adulthood. I can't say the same for Philly. I agree with you about Philly fans turning on their team during bad times. Donovan has been abused throughout his career. As a sportsfan it's quite sad. I know all their fans are not like that but they do have that reputation as fair weather fans.

Well, I don't know about their reputation as fair weather fans because I don't live in that area. I just know how I was treated when I went to that stadium and they are proud of such behavior. Other than that, I can't deny they had a good run in the early 2000's.

Fiverings, You do have that target on your back but just like me you don't care. I honestly think that it will be the Cowboys and Pats in the superbowl. If you win then congratulations and if we win I'm sure you will wish us the best. That's the difference between our franchises and most of the others in the NFL. We have respect for opposing teams and alot of other teams fans don't.

Well, the only thing I say about having a target on your back is that your team is doing something right or nobody would care. Nobody would hate the Cowboys or Pats if they were feeding on the bottom of the division year after year. Usually, most of the haters and criticism come out when a team is winning. So, if that is the case, I hope the haters just keep on hating.

Exactly. Nice post as usual.

Just want to get to a playoff game and win and get this monkey of our back. Then they will hate us even more. Just goes with the territory, I guess. Good luck. The Pats are the odd-on fave to win the SB right now, but it's still early.

Doesn't he have to retire before he can go to New England?

Not sure what's going to happen right now with that thing. It's going to be like the T.O. situation in Philly. I think Taylor is going to end up staying in Miami this year, but it will not be a happy year if he's in the doghouse with Bill. I can't see anyone giving up big dollars for an older DE unless it's a 1-2 year deal.
