The Colts are OK

I was sitting on my friends couch waiting for the Colts Chiefs showdown to start. We were talking about something irrelevent when the true and false portion came up and one of the questions caught my attention. "Will Dwight Freeney's foot injury put the Colts repeating out of the question." I stopped my conversation and swung around to the TV. I heard correctly but even more shockingly two out of the three analysts said true. Are people outside of Colts nation really giving Dwight Freeney that much credit, and the Colts that little? WTF is going on?

Marvin, Dallas, Adam, Anthony, Tony, Ryan, Rob, Freddy, and Dwight. Those are the Colts current injuries. Not all of them may be out but they are still hurt. Harrison, Clark, Ugoh and Dwight are big hits to the Colts. But only one of them is out indefinately. Its not even the playoffs yet why are we talking about repeating. And all this poppycock about Dwight? Mathis has more sacks this season, we still have him. Now one may argue, "Dwight is a presence, teams pay more attention to him so Mathis gets more looks at the QB." True, dwight does get double teamed, sometimes even triple teamed, but mathis is no secret weapon. The same thing will happen with Mathis and Josh Thomas. Josh has a lot of potential and has been waiting for his chance to shine. Teams will start to look to the right to see what mathis is doing, no need to worry about this white guy coming from where dwight used to come from right? Wrong, thats how mathis got his chance and thats how Thomas will get his. As for the offense, Peyton hasnt been as effective lately. Very true but he doesnt have his regular team out there. The colts o-line is the best in the league. But with two left side starters out temporarily he gets rushed more often than he should. This also hurts Addai's YPG. Once he has his favorite targets and secret weapons back, and teams have to gaurd more than just reggie wayne, look for the awesome power of the Colts Offense to come back.

One more thing. If you were to take away, Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Two Offensive line starters, teddy bruschi, richard seymour, whoever replaced their kicker, and ben watson, i'd like to see the Patriots do better than the Colts are doing now. Just something to think about.
