Vols Ainge Signs With Jets

Quarterback Erik Ainge signed a contract with the NFL's Jets Thursday, after being picked by them in the fifth round of April's draft. Ainge is expected to compete to be the Jets third quarterback behind Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens. The 6-5 Ainge started 35 games for the Tennessee Vols during his college career in Knoxville, passing for more than 6300 yards and 51 touchdowns. Ainge is the nephew of Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge.

Ainge has the arm to make all the throws in the NFL!! Pennington can barely make half of them even though he is a smart player that improvises pretty well. Clemens is untested but looks to have a lot of upside. point and case, when its all said and done.. I think Ainge will be the starter in New York with in the next year or so
