Westbrook is Due

It's an old link, but after reading TommyTheCat's blog I suddenly became a lot more interested in the details of Westbrook's contract situation. This article sums it up nicely, Westbrook is due. Good looks Tommy.

i know ,i hope they address this soon because this dude deserves to get paid

He does deserve to get paid he's played above and beyond his contract. I hope he doesnt hold out if he does it wont be good.

AMEN gunna!!!!!

Im not saying the man shouldnt be making more than he gets but when he signed the deal 2 years ago he was in the top 5 RB's in terms of salary. Restructuring his deal would go against the policy of the Eagles front office. That being said, I hope he does get a new deal.

That's why we can't get a BIG NAME Wide reciever, They won't pay one of the currnet superstars, and when 1 or two key player finally leave then Philly will be left @ss out !
They should have BEEN paid B-West.
The Eagles F/O are IDIOTS !

YIP, gotta agree Truth!!!!!

We CAN afford both...lets hope we get both. Westbrook is getting his...you'll see.

cheers, cuz i hope so dtrick !!!!

I don't want to come off naive or arrogant,BUT....as much as I LOVE B-West and personally think that he deserves more than what he's getting, let's not forget that he agreed to this contract and signed on the dotted line. We're talking about millionaires here ppl.Not folks who aren't making ends meet,Millionaires.Sure undeserving players are making more, but that's FA for ya,huh? Should the Eagles throw him a bone in good faith(especially since he didn't get a paycheck last season and carried the team)-YES they should. But I for one will be very disappointed if he holds out for a new contract. He obviously shouldn't have trouble paying his bills. Okay, I'm stepping off my soapbox now.
Let me have it, but please be kind.LOL!!

MOM I agree with you, but this is one exception to the rule. He's done more than whats been asked of and expected of. He deserves a better deal. They did it for Dmac, they should do it for him.

I'm with ya, I would just hate to see it come to a holdout situation.

exactly...that would hurt this team more than dmac going down for another season

with ya mom thumbs up

Right keep5

Brian Westbrook deserves his due pay...
He carried the team on his back for the past two years. His play is one if not the sole consistencies of the Philadelphia Eagles. He is officially a pro-bowl tailback, and he has proven through various events;(Most notably the 1 yard down) That he puts the team and winning before his own personal statistics. To not reward this behavior would disgust me as an Eagles fan, because we need to take care of the players who envelope the essence of the city, and play for more then themselves. If we do not give him something considerable, it would be poor form on the Eagles.

mom you are correct, He did sign that old contract
it's just that B-West has outperformed the contract and if you don't take of him then he's going to leave and take his services somewhere else. You should reward a player that does as much as Westbrrok has done for Philly.
I know his agent and he DOES NOT forget these kind of important things. B-West should not have to ask they should already be paying the dude his fair market value and they are not.

Truth, fo sho.

I agree.......but you know the Eagles FO. I just hope it's settled quietly and not the focal point of training camp.
