Where the Oakland Raiders Stand: Defense

The other day I outlined the moves that have been made on the offensive side of the ball. today the focus shifts to the defense. The Raiders have made a lot of noise on that side of the ball franchising Nnamdi Asomugha, re-singing Tommy Kelly to a mammoth contract, and adding Gibril Wilson and DeAngelo Hall. The only departures thus far are are Tyler Brayton and Warren Sapp. This has been an area where the Oakland Raiders have spread money around like Pac Man at a strip club, but have they done enough?

it is a good article and no question you've been busy. On paper I would put you in second place in the division but still watching on tv come February. On a side note, as a fan of a team who just franchised a safety and has to resign our best corner next year as well, I cannot support all of your spending. In fact, shame on you Al Davis.

With all the free agent moves, they still need help on the d line. They defense wins championships, and you build teams from the inside out. They have bodies there, but no impact players. More or less the same as last year, but without Sapp. They should go for Dorsey or Ellis.

I agree. A solid dt would really help. Even more importantly, they need to get rid of the culture of losing. This is a team that needs to learn how to win mentally. They still seem surprised with each one.

Raiders '08 Season: Still a Joke? DeAngelo: Worth the Cash? Oakland: the wasteland of the NFL?
Get used to this Raider fans, you ain't passing 6 wins this year LOL. And cowboys, ahem, sorry but TO is gone when he plays the Birds.
