Who is Kris Wilson?

The answer: likely the newest Eagle. Kris Wilson is visiting the Eagles today, and the team has announced they will hold a press conference at 3 pm today, where they will likely discuss their signing of the free agent. According to PhiladelphiaEagles.com, Wilson is a tight end, H-back and fullback. He is a local kid, from Lancaster, who spent the last four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. He is coming off his best season in 2007, where he started 12 games, and caught 24 passes for 180 yards. He played a lot of fullback last season for the Chiefs and even had 3 carries for 7 yards. He also has 4 career touchdown receptions.

Includes a short highlight of Wilson plowing through the Titans defense to score a touchdown.

Update: The deal is confirmed, and will likely be for three years.

This kids a beast. Extremely athletic and physical player. Had to suck for him playing behind Gonzalez all those years, but I remember him well from his college days and hes very exciting to watch. Great to see a Pitt guy AND a Lancaster Pa guy in green!!!

Agreed. Im from Lancaster and was able to follow him throughout his whole career. I think he is gonna surprise a lot of people. This is gonna be a bold statement, but I seriously believe he could end up being our starter next year once LJ bolts.

hell, we just need Dan Kreider and we can move the team to Lancaster haha

Ya Dtrick agreed, hah that must be sick for you. Too bad about Pitt in NCAA basketball i had them going pretty far.

Kris Wilson is a great player. I live in Lancaster and live like 5 minutes from McCaskey. Plus it helps that this guy is and was an Eagles fan like us when young. Great signing!! Bye-bye schobel!!

He reminds me of dallas clark athletic and can split out

Well, I see what you are saying about his versatility, but he definitely doesn't have hands like Clark

his hands are pretty damn good buddy, not sure where you're getting your info. I watched him make some great catches in college...i wouldn't worry about his hands.

I'm not saying they aren't good, but Dallas Clark is a whole nother level!

eh, Dallas Clarks overrated. Take Peyton away from him and lets see what he can do.

I'll give you that one

good question of who the hell this guy is

I think the real question is who cares...

thats true

"Despite more pressing needs, the Chiefs took TE Kris Wilson — a player with hands, speed and athleticism almost comparable to Pro Bowler Tony Gonzalez — in the second round."

found this interesting quote from a profootballweekly.com article in 2004. Shows what people thought of him coming out of college. Hard to showcase those skills behind Gonzalez

Good find! The question is, will the Eagles play him at fullback or tight end, or both?

thats a great question and i think the only way to answer that is to say that he'll be a weapon however they use him; a true asset to the team.

Who's the odd guy out once the season starts? I'm guessing Schobel

Today at the press confrence Wilson said he would be used primaraly as a tight end. That puts 4 tight ends on the team.

Schobels as good as gone...definitely expendable

Good point, I agree but does that mean they signed wilson just to put him at third string? Or is Celek still the third tight end? I thought he came on strong at the end of last year. Im not sure, could there be a possible suprise?
