good point dubdeezy... tonystark look at mcnabbs career!!!!! your acting like his int/td ratio is 6/1... he doesnt throw that many interceptions!!!!!! he is actually rather consistant.
career 171 tds and 79 int.
THATS A GOOD RATIO!!!!!! GET OVER THIS WHOLE INTERCEPTION THING MAN YOUR SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG!!!!
Tom Brady 3 Super Bowl rings without 1 pro bowl receiver. Peyton Manning 1 Super Bowl ring. Eli Manning 1 Super Bowl ring. Guess what the difference is DM5 lover and you can hide this also. McNabb had a pro bowl receiver who had a good game and he choked. End of story. If that's your greatness on his regular season stats than more power to you. He's won JACK!!!!
Tom Brady - 3 Super Bowl victories - Hall of Fame QB
Peyton Manning - Super Bowl winner - Hall of Fame QB
Tony Romo - A better QB than McNabb right now
McNabb -
A) Voted to the Pro-Bowl TWICE in nine seasons.
B) Only two seasons with 25 TD's or more.
C) Only 2 seasons with a passer rating higher than 89.9.
D) Scored a paltry 16 on the Wonderlic test - NFL players are expected to score at least a 20 on this test - This test isn't difficult.
E) Only five complete seasons - injured four years in 9 year career.
F) Has completed better than 59.1% of his passes twice in nine years - Brad Childress said that 60% is the magic number - A good west coast QB should have a completion percentage of 60% or better due to the number of high percentage throws (short passes under 10 yards).
stats.....wow...can u say MARINO ... SBs...srew stats....hey and 3 of those guys have rings u idiot....itd sll sbout super bowls ...when will u get it ....marino..so u guys will be happy wit 5 going out like marino...?alll the stats in the world but no ring...its a dam shame...
3 names come to mind. Rhonde Barber, Ricky Manning Jr. and Teddy Bruschi. McNabb threw the ball RIGHT to them in critical moments. Was it his fault entirely? Maybe. Or did the recievers not fight for the ball? Perhaps. Or was it that the recievers ran the wrong route? Yet another option. The truth of the matter is that if our team was better as a whole, and our defense allowed less points and caused more turnovers. We would have won. Hopefully this year is different and our defense is good enough to carry the offense if/when they still have "red zone/int issues".
There have also been some pretty pathetic offenses who have won the Superbowl because of a great defense. If we can limit our turnovers and gain a better advantage through field position (better punt/kick returns) we will be fine. Do I think we will win a Superbowl? Of course I do. Will it be with 5? That remains to be seen. I think he has the potential and the team around him that will get us there. Hopefully this year is OUR year. Can't wait for the season to begin!
how can i get over the int thing if thats the main reason we havent won a superbowl yet??..ok so he takes care of the ball in the regular season...so y does he choke in the BIG GAMES??..........screw stats man.."w's" are the only thing that count....so as long as 5 has good stats ur satisfied?
When it comes to the question of whether or not #5 can and/or will win a ring, I believe he CAN, but he WON'T. Please allow me to explain:
I believe McNabb has the talent, skill, and ability to lead a team to a SB win. However, the Eagles Front Office has hamstrung him in terms of his ability to develop rhythm & timing, trust & harmony with a single set of receivers.
Allow me to point out that Donovan has had a different set of receivers to get used to each of the past 5 years:
2003: Thrash & Pinkston
2004: "Happy" TO & Pinkston
2005: "Unhappy" TO & Brown
2006: Stallworth & Brown
2007: Curtis & Brown
Over that same span, Manning has had Harrison & Wayne...period.
Thus Harrison has the needed rhythm & trust with his QB to excel, while Brown does not.
Thus McNabb appears erratic at times, while Manning has been able to settle into consistency.
It could be argued that McNabb must have RIDICULOUS SKILLZ to have performed as well as he has with what he's had to deal with...
Curtis was a 1,000-yd WR in his first year in the Eagles complex, receiver-unfriendly (as far as learning it, getting comfortable, getting in-rhythm and gaining trust) version of the WCO. Give Curtis & McNabb a chance to have a second year of growth together and I believe Curtis will begin to "command" double-teams, opening up the field for Reggie. The question no one can answer is whether or not Reggie has what it takes to step up & take advantage.
I guess we just have to wait and see...
But unfortunately for McNabb, the window is closing. Soon they will be breaking in 2 new Offensive Tackles...soon Dawk will retire...soon B-West will move in age from "around 30" to "over 30"...soon Reid's size combined with the stress of the job will contribute to health problems (I hope not, but statistically speaking - it don't look good.)...etc
Personally, I want to see them keep a group of good receivers together for 3-4 years and see if McNabb "settles in" with them.
EAGLES FRONT OFFICE PERIOD,THEY WENT TO SUPER,WITH A PROVEN #1 WR,WHY CAN'T THE EAGLES FIGURE THAT OUT---IF THE WR WERE STUD,LIKE MARVIN HARRISON,TORRY HOLT--RAN PRECISE ROUTES---HE WOULD NOT HAD THROWN THOSE INT--THEY GOT YOUNG WR,STATING,THEY CAN WIN--NOT ONE PHYSICAL WIDE OUT--ON BUMP COVRGE--IF I WERE DEFSE COOR--GAME PLAN FOR WESTBROOK D-MAC-AND PLAY A ZONE COVRGE,NO THREAT DOWN THE FIELD. BUT EIGHT IN THE BOX--JUST IN CASE D-MAC RUNS-HE HAD WEAPONS,HE WOULD NOT HAVE TO RUN. IN PHILLY,IF RUNS TO MUCH,HE NOT A POCKET QB--THATS B!!!!!S NO WEAPONS-----I AM GOING TO SAY IT,I HATE IT --THE EAGES FO IS A BUNCH OF DUCKS!!!!!!!IF THEY DON'T GET THIS MAN A SUPER BOW IN PHILLY--THAT MAKES YOU COME TO WORK, YOU GOT PEOPLE THAT CAN MAKE PLAYS.
in case u all forgot..we made it to the bowl and made if through the playoffs and ship without him...so what r u tryin to say???..and to u nb1..tell me how the dam pats did it wit givens, branch and brown..like i said none better than what we had...so weres the argument....and look how long mannig took to win it...WITH SUPERSTAR RECEIVERS....look at the bucs, ravens, look at there shitty as offenses.. they had stellar defenses..so screw this big all star wideout everyone is pissn about..and face the fact that if 5 never have thrown them dam oicks in all our big games..WE WOULD HAVE A FU*KIN SUPERBOWL BYNOW..!!!!!!!!!!!
in case u all forgot..we made it to the bowl and made if through the playoffs and ship without him...so what r u tryin to say???..and to u nb1..tell me how the dam pats did it wit givens, branch and brown..like i said none better than what we had...so weres the argument....and look how long mannig took to win it...WITH SUPERSTAR RECEIVERS....look at the bucs, ravens, look at there shitty as offenses.. they had stellar defenses..so screw this big all star wideout everyone is pissn about..and face the fact that if 5 never have thrown them dam oicks in all our big games..WE WOULD HAVE WON A SUPERBOWL BY NOW
yOUR POINT WELL TAKEN TONY STARK----GIVENS,BRANCH,BROWN RAN PRECISE ROUTES---WHEN YOU GOT YOUNG WR'S TRYING TO CRACK THE LINE UP---DO NOT UNDERSTAND OFF LANGUAGE,REMEMBER THE PATS WR'S WAS WITH BRADY FOR A LONG TIME---EACH YEAR MCNABB IS GETTING A GOOD WR-ALA STALLWORTH--REFSE TO PAY HIM--HER COMES CURTIS---EACH YEAR IS SOMETHING NEW---THE WR'S HE HAS CONFIDENCE IS WESTBROOK PERIOD.
You fail to mention all of the huge games he has won for us. When healthy he is in the top 3 best QB's in the league period. Lets take a closer look at the games you outlined.
1. Rams NFC Championship - He played a fantastic game.
2. Bucs NFC Championship - He played bad.
3. Carolina NFC CHampionship - The receivers were terrible. Go back and take a look at the picks. Each one clearly shows the receivers being at fault.
4. Superbowl - He played bad yet was not helped by the play calling at all. The Pats were playing pass and teeing off on Mcnabb the whole game because that is all we were doing.
You are also wrong on the WR issue. Branch, Givens, and Brown were 10 times better than what we had at the time. Pinky, thrash,?? So while DOnavan was winning with them, Brady was winning Bowls with a much better team and coach around him. Simply put, this offense runs much better when you have a big #1, go to receiver in it. They are able to get off the line in press coverage and stretch the field. This opens up the middle for all of the crossing patterns and also for one of the most dangerous weapons in the league in Westbrook. If we would of have had just one of the receivers Peyton has enjoyed his whole career, we would have won multiple super bowls.
So, all in all you can believe what you want. I choose to believe he is our best shot at winning a bowl.
he threw up and couldn t run the hurry up cause he was tired!!! guess the line threw the interception to harrison to seal it up? guess westbrook made some bad chunky soup for dmac and that made him throw up?
I'm not going to pick on McNabb anymore for throwing up in the Superbowl. I do like the guy but he is not who I want on the field in the final minutes of a superbowl. These days it's Brady or the Manning brothers.I have heard the Westbrook theory on the chunky soup and I think eventually you will find out that Belichick had something to do with it.
he was tired because the line made him scramble the whole game and no qb is going to march 96 yards in 40 secs with a limping t.o. greg lewis and lj smith to throw to
MAYBE THE THE PATS HAD VIDEO TAPED US, mAYBE THE LINE WOULD HAVE BEEN BLOCKING FOR HIM THE WHOLE GAME HE WOULD NOT HAVE THROWN THE PICK. MAYBE IF WESTBROOK WAS DOING HIS JJOB AND RUNNING THE BALL LIKE HE SHOULD WE WOULD'NT BEEN IN THAT SITUATION. MAYBE IF MCNABB DID NOT GET SACKED 1000 TIMES IN THAT GAME HE WOULD HAVE BEEN ON HIS GAME. ALL THESE MAYBE HERE IS THE BEST ONE YET AND PROBLY THE MOST RELISTIC ONE ,,,,,,,,, MAYBE IF ALL THE PLAYERS DID THERE JOBS LIKE THEY ARE SOPPOSED TO IN FOOTBALL, CAUSE IT IS A TEAM GAME, MAYBE WE MIGHT HAVE ONE.
I think Mcnabb is the best thing in philadelphia since the fuckin cheese steak.
If we win a superbowl while McNabb is the QB it will be despite his efforts to choke and lose the game. Not all Eagles fans are #5 sycophants like most of the people on here. The rest of America understands that he is part of the problem and not the solution regardless of wracking up nice stats against bad teams over his career.NFC East sucked for most of his tenure.NFC in general provided a lot of pushover opponents for the Eagles to beat up on. He is good not great. He can win it all here but it will have to be soon AND the victory will be supplied by other members of the team.
mcnabb has NEVER choked in a big game. he won his first playoff game. played well against the rams. the wr's and line lost the bucs game and also the panthers game. we only lost the sb because the pats were cheating. also our line played horrible and reid had bad playcalling
even if the pats were able to read our defensive playcalling that would have only made our defense look worse not our offense. mcnabb threw numerous picks and had a qb rating in the seventies. there comes a time when you have to stop placing the blame on the team as a whole and on yourself instead.
Great comment King!!!! If he wins a superbowl I will tip my hat to him but I don't think that will happen. I hate fans who constantly throw regular season stats in your face. They fail to realize that these players have won nothing. The NFC was a place for quarterbacks to inflate their numbers. McNabb compiled incredible numbers that amount to absolutely nothing. People forget that when the Eagles played the Pats in the Superbowl it was the Eagles who had the pro bowl receiver in Owens who also played a descent game. We got our butts spanked in the last Superbowl. Why can't fans in Philly just own up and acknowledge that the guy did not perform well in the BIGGGG GAME?
A lot of Giants fans detest Eli Manning and gladly celebrated their superbowl win by giving the credit to the players who made it happen. The smarter ones will open admit that the best thing Eli did was NOT SCREWING UP. The lesson here is that you don't have to kiss your QBs ass all the time.
Oh yes he does DM5LOVER. Maybe it's you that don't know what you're talking about. The guy was at the game and McNabb didn't perform well. If Brady performed the same way I would say something about Brady and I will. He played bad in the Superbowl just like most of the Patriots. The King is right and Tony is right. I'm not bashing McNabb. He could have performed better in the BIGGGG Game..
if anyone remembers the pittsburgh game that year when t.o. was yelling at mc nabb on the sideline?
it was brad childress who said that mc nabb has problem when it comes to big games!!!
yea mcnabb just won his 1st pl,ayoff game and tons of others and played great in his 1st nfc championship game but maybe it was his nerves that made him do bad the 2nd time around. maybe it wasnt the fact that his wr's played horrible 2 years straight. or that his line, playcalling, and runningame failed him in the sb. i guess just because his team played like a college offense in the sb doesnt mean it wasnt his fault
