When the Bears acquired Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars, many thought he would take over as Chicago's No. 1 quarterback, but that may not be the case.
Bears general manager Ryan Pace said Friday that Foles and Mitch Trubisky will compete for the starting position, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Bears’ GM Ryan Pace called the battle between Chicago QBs Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles an "open competition.”

When looking at the comments section below Schefter's tweet, it seems that many Bears' fans believe Foles will win the starting job over Trubisky. But that's probably because many aren't confident in Trubisky's abilities after getting the team to just one playoff appearance in his first three seasons.
The 25-year-old Trubisky is 23-18 with the Bears with a 63.4 completion percentage, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. When comparing those numbers to Foles', there really isn't much difference.
Foles is 26-22 with a 61.9 completion percentage, 71 touchdowns and 35 interceptions. Of course, Foles has been in the league far longer than Trubisky, but the main difference is he has a Super Bowl title under his belt with the Philadelphia Eagles.
If it's truly going to be a competition, then both quarterbacks will have their work cut out for them.
