Ben Roethlisberger's son has a new favorite player. Instead of wearing his dad's jersey on Sundays, he has swapped it out with Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth's.
"He comes down in his Pat Freiermuth jersey," Roethlisberger said on his "Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger" podcast. "I said. 'So, that’s going to be on all day?'"
His son Benjamin's response: "Yep."

Roethlisberger played with Freiermuth for one season in 2021. He knows exactly how talented the second-year tight end is as he had almost 500 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie.
However, the Steelers' former quarterback isn’t sure why Freiermuth is his son’s favorite.
"I took a picture and sent it to Pat. I said, 'I'm not sure why he loves you so much, but this is what he wore to church today.'"
The answer may be simple.
Roethlisberger has compared Freiermuth to his former teammate and friend Heath Miller.
"I think Pat's a really good football player," Roethlisberger previously told Miller. "He reminds me a lot of you."
Maybe the love for Pittsburgh Steelers tight ends just runs in the Roethlisberger bloodline.
