Bills CB Josh Norman: 'We've got the best secondary in the league'

Josh Norman joined the Bills in the offseason, and he expressed his excitement, saying that Buffalo has the best secondary in the NFL and that people are underrating starting safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.

"We've got the best secondary in the league," Norman told reporters. "Guys sleep on Micah and Po back there."

The Bills are among the most talented secondaries in the NFL. They finished third in the NFL in passing yards allowed last season, behind only the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots. Norman's assessment of Poyer and Hyde is accurate, as they were ranked the third-best safety tandem heading into the season by Pro Football Focus. And the addition of Norman, who signed a one-year, $6 million contract in March, could help bolster the already impressive unit.

However, the Bills may have to try and defend the pass without their best cornerback, as All-Pro Tre'Davious White is reportedly considering opting out of the upcoming season. White called out critics on Twitter, calling people "selfish for thinking that football is bigger than life." The opt-out deadline for NFL players is 4 p.m. EST.

If White does opt out, Buffalo will have a large challenge trying to replace him, as he is arguably the most talented player on the entire roster. Norman was once on White's level, earning First-Team All-Pro honors for the Panthers in 2015, but he has struggled over the last few seasons. But without White, pressure may be on Norman to regain his old form.
