Browns earn a shockingly mediocre offseason grade from one national outlet

The rather quiet Cleveland Browns approach to the offseason was near perfect.

At least that is what Pro Football Focus is claiming in their recent offseason grades released Friday.

Overall, Pro Football Focus gave the Browns a B- grade. It isn't perfect, but it is close. And that summarizes everything that the 2024 season is about for the Browns: Deshaun Watson being a star again.

Here is what Pro Football Focus had to say about the Browns' offseason:

"Cleveland didn’t make a ton of splashes. They lost Anthony Walker and Sione Takitaki, but they are still fine at linebacker. Their big move was trading for Jerry Jeudy, who they hope can be a big contributor.

"Their draft didn’t move the needle for me; they actually overdrafted a few players relative to my board. But this remains a near-complete roster, so execution is all that remains."

The Browns draft wasn't perfect, but it was exactly what was needed. Cleveland's season is directly on Watson's shoulders. As long as he is healthy and looks like a star, Cleveland will be in good shape. If he can't be that quarterback anymore, the B- offseason will only lead to more disappointment in Cleveland.
