Browns GM downplays Odell Beckham Jr. trade rumors, says team is 'looking forward to getting him back'

Odell Beckham Jr. missed the second half of last season after tearing his ACL, and some wondered if the receiver had played his last game in Cleveland after the Browns' offense seemed to improve without Beckham. But Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry seemed to dispel any speculation about the Browns trading their receiver, as he told reporters that he was excited to have Beckham back this upcoming season.

"I think he's a dynamic player who can be incredibly productive in this system," Berry told media on Wednesday. "So, we're looking forward to getting him back."

Beckham has been with the Browns for the last two seasons but has not yet made the impact that many expected when the team acquired him in a trade from the New York Giants. Through 22 starts in Cleveland, Beckham only has 1,354 yards receiving and seven receiving touchdowns.

However, the 28-year-old receiver is still considered to be one of the most talented pass-catchers in the entire league, and with quarterback Baker Mayfield showing improvement last season, the time could finally be coming for Beckham to deliver a monster season in Cleveland. If Beckham returns to form, it could make Cleveland one of the most potent offenses in the entire NFL.
