Why would we ever do that??? As far as the FO is concerned, we are "o.k" with what we have. We wouldn't draft a guy and trade him to another team right off the bat! That would be silly. The only way this "scenario" would happen is if Cincy and Philly had a "secret agreement" in place (during and after the draft). I would honestly be surprised if this ever came to light.
Welcome to the yard..... first off no i wouldnt trade Jackson I'm guessing you mean Desean Jackson and Lito Sheppard for Chad Johnson..... Desean is already the Eagles FO's prized pick and wont be traded any time soon Lito's situation is too confusing do they want him? will they trade him? WHO KNOWS?
deasean jackson must stay. i'd be willing to trade lito, buck, and our 1st rounder in '09 ( i say we keep carolina's pick...we'll finish this season with a better record)
I GAURANTEE YOU THAT IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS that JACKSON WILL HAVE MORE TD'S AND YARDS THEN 30 Year Old CHAD JOHNSON. There is no way that the Eagles are giving up Jackson. He is the Future and Chad is moving on into the Past. No question there has no been a better reciever than Chad Johnson the last 5 years, but no way Eagles are giving up their future. Especially after seeing the guy catch everything that came his way last weekend in camp. I rather keep him and Lito and leave Chad Alone!! Our Secondary is SICK!! If Lito stays. Imagine QB trying to throw into that coverage on 3rd Down. ......Now I don't think they will do it, but I sure would give up 2 first round picks for Chad. Carolina's Could be a top 5 pick next year though so I am not sure the Eagles would part with that. We can snatch up a Younger ROY WILLIAMS next year. Even if they Franchise him it will only cost 1 first round pick.
Get Out!!! Why would we ever trade Jackson? and if the Bengals really wanted him that bad they would have takin him instead of 1 of the other 3 receivers!!!
look we need jackson as much on special teams as we do on offense.... if this trade ever did go down we would probably have to give up lito and the panthers 1st round pick next year.. but personally i love having lito and asante on the same field... I cant imagine how QBs are going to throw on them with gaither, bradley, clemons, cole, and the rest of the d line coming at them..... GO EAGLES!!
If a deal for Lito were going to happen, another player won't be included. We'll most likely wind up getting picks, OR if the front office decides that they are playing dumb to avoid any tampering by saying they want Chad before June 1st and then ship Lito and one of our Firsts next season to Cincy. Otherwise, DeSean is staying put, if anything I could see them possibly packaging Brown in a deal, but only if we were to receive a top tier WR in return.
I just doubt that a big time deal will go down for Lito because now other teams see the situation that we have with him still in the mix. If it does happen, I'd be disappointed to see Lito go, but would be happy that a potentially bad situation was averted.
At first I thought you meant Jamaal Jackson the Eagles Center and Lito for Chad. I'm hearing he's not the Jamaal Jackson of old. If that were the case I would do it. I do agree with you Jollygreen. Lito, Asante, Brown, Dawkins. Awesome secondary!!
Bad idea, Jackson seems like he's fitting in well here, and he's young plus full of promise if he puts on a little more weight and keeps working with Rice he'll be be a beast. While I like Chad I also like Jacksons promise.
God, I hate these stupid trade rumors. I hope we keep Lito. If a top flight receiver were to come available, we have an extra first rounder, and quite few receivers that make great #2s. But until June 1st, we don't know crap. We don't even know if Cincy will trade him. They might make an example of him, and show other players they don't cave to demands.
i don' think this was the best post but its watever, everyone else that try's to attack the person blogging he wants u to agree or disagree not get on his god damn case and talk crap!
Welcome to the yard. I wouldn't trade Lito and Jackson for Chad. I think Jackson is going to be a valueable part of the eagles offense this year and having lito is going to improve the deffense big time, because like Johnson the deffensive cord said he can rotate all three corners and depending on the situation he can have all three of them on the field at the same time I mean think about that Lito, Brown and Samuel on the field at the same time who would want to pass the ball when they're on the field, but back to Jackson like I said before I think this kid is going to help us out big this year and I think that he is going to be a very good reciever in this league when given the chance I see a lot of Jerry Rice and Steve Smith in this Kid so I don't think I would trade for Chad he is jst another T.O situation and this is the last thing this team needs we have a good chemistery in the locker room.
new guy have u ever heard of a nickel corner. look it up, and we operate w/ one about 66& of the time. its 3 cornerbacks, and if we are going to run it that much, would u rather have Joselio Hanson out there or Lito? if a trade does happen for lito for a #1 WR, we will throw in a pick(s). if we were to pick a player to be traded w/ Lito it would be Reggie Brown, especially considering Cincinati's lack of WR's now, even more so if they gave us Chad Johnson. JACKSON will be a beast. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!
No, we do not have to get rid of one. And if you were, get rid of Brown. He's the pansy causing contraversy. Saying things about McNabb and his request for playmakers. Keep the two probowlers. But I say keep all three. You just have to reach an agreement with Lito. Guarantee him a new contract if he can stay healthy.
Guarantee him a new contract? DUMB DUMB DUMB The Eagles do not and will not redo deals...go ahead and open the damn floodgates, because thats exactly what would happen if you were running this team. You don't think that guys like Westbrook, Cole, Andrews, Sheldon would follow suit? Its simple...he signed a contract...honor it.
Fellow Eagle fans....did we not learn our lesson with TO? Why do we want another cancer in the locker room? Yes, Chad is good and I am sure he would help out on the field, but his poor attitude is not something that we should have to deal with.
why did so many people coment on this article...if they wanted jackon they would of drafted him instead of simpson..and philly wouldnt give away our returner a position that killed us last year..and no he isnt like TO..chad is chad...i enjoy watching chad..hes funny as sh*t..TO is justa b*tch...look at our schedule..wer gonna need all the DBs we have.....
welcome to the yard. now go home! are you mentally challeged or maybe a cowboy fan just trying to infiltrate our yard. we're fine where we are no need to give up any piece of our potentially all dominating defense and our version of hester on special teams. that's insane
Did I miss anyone pointing out that if you did make that trade, you would be liable for any and all guaranteed money Jackson would sign for this season. I know that you have a lot of room, but that gives you the option of resigning or extending veterans this season and having the first year of the guaranteed money out of the way. I can't think of a sillier move than to trade a player that has never played a down for you. Also, tonystark was right. Your schedule has 9 or 10 games this season against teams that were pass heavy last season. Keep Lito.
TOTALLY DISAGREE!! FIRST OFF.. WHY would you even consider trading a player that hasn't even seen a single snap in the NFL, for all we know he could be the next best thing. Chad Johnson is a great receiver without a doubt and trading Lito is one thing because that's been talked about and there is already a replacement on the team in Asante if that does happen but it won't. As I've said before and many times over again, we as Eagles fans need to take the roster as it is and just look forward to the season. I understand that you're new to the yard.. WELCOME, by the way but don't post things like this because this entire offseason people have been getting blasted on here for posts like this. Our defense is going to be nasty and I think that we have a promising offense so long as people stay healthy and play to their ability. Sorry about the fingers thing if it means that much to you but I get heated when I read some of the thoughts in the yard...
Wow, you expect the eagles to trade a young promising WR (Desean Jackson) for a man who's almost a decade older than him?
I agree with trading Lito, well only if it lands us a number one receiver now. But I would trade lito plus draft picks. Not Lito plus a potential stud receiver. If thats not possible then I say we try to keep lito so we have three Pro bowl Corners to stop the top receivers in the NFC east.
