The Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed that linebacker Leon Jacobs tore his right ACL during the Thursday night loss to the Miami Dolphins and won't play again this season.
As Michael DiRocco of ESPN explained, Jacobs suffered the injury on the seventh play of the contest and was carted off the field. The 24-year-old selected by the Jaguars in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft appeared in all three of Jacksonville's games this month and tallied three tackles before his campaign ended prematurely.
It's the second time Jacobs has landed on injured reserve. A quadriceps injury sidelined him in December 2018 after he had appeared in 12 games as a rookie.
28-year-old Cassius Marsh replaced Jacobs during Thursday's game.
