Jake Paul says he did ayahuasca with Packers' Aaron Rodgers

It turns out social-media-personality-turned-boxer Jake Paul has at least one thing in common with current Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

"Aaron and I were actually together when we did the ayahuasca," Paul told Ryan Morik of Fox News Digital. "He’s more publicly known for speaking about it, but I was actually there with him when we did it. We spent the week there doing it. Definitely share that similarity in terms of spirituality and reflecting and going into the deepest parts of the mind. Definitely have been doing some of that."

Rodgers spoke openly on multiple occasions last offseason about his psychedelic tea experiences with ayahuasca. Per ESPN and the Associated Press, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player using ayahuasca doesn't violate the league's substance abuse or performance-enhancing substance policies.

Thus far, Paul has not been popped by the United States Anti-Doping Agency or any other organizations as it pertains to ayahuasca.

Jaclyn Hendricks of the New York Post pointed out that Rodgers has not yet referenced spending time with Paul during any interviews or podcasts.

Most recently, Rodgers confirmed during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he intends to play for the New York Jets later this year assuming the Jets and Packers can come to terms on a trade.

Rodgers apparently came to his decision about wanting to play for the Jets after he completed a so-called "darkness retreat." Paul said he is on track to participate in a similar isolation period coming off the loss he suffered to Tommy Fury last month.

"It’s funny, I was planning on doing the darkness retreat later this year," Paul explained. He suggested that the getaway will help him determine what's next.

"I think it’s always powerful to just take some time and see how everything unfolds, what the next steps are in terms of my boxing career in all that," he added during the conversation.

Paul now holds an official boxing record of 6-1. He previously earned victories over mixed martial artists Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.
