King of Props: Parris in November

There’s a stark contrast between the résumés of the two coaches who will match wits on Monday Night Football. Whereas Mike Tomlin owns the third-longest tenure in the league, having taken the reins of the Steelers in 2007, Jeff Saturday had never coached above the high-school level before getting the interim job with the Colts earlier this season. Despite that disparity, we’re backing a player from the less experienced sideline for our top prop:

The bet: Over 42½ receiving yards for Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell (FanDuel)

After catching 90 passes for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns in his senior year at Ohio State, Campbell couldn’t stay healthy during his first three seasons as a pro. But he has broken out in 2022, playing in all 11 games and setting career highs across the board.

A key to the renaissance has been clicking with veteran quarterback Matt Ryan, who was benched in favor of Sam Ehlinger for Weeks 8 and 9. In the last four games that the two have played together, Campbell has caught 29 passes for 270 yards.

It recalls the connection that Campbell had with Dwayne Haskins, the former Ohio State QB who tragically lost his life in April. He was most recently a member of the Steelers, and the team wears a decal bearing his jersey number on their helmets.

The Pittsburgh defense allows an average of 272 passing yards per game – the second-highest total in the league – and it has particularly struggled against receivers in the slot. Operating from there a majority of the time, Campbell will honor his fallen college teammate tonight.
