New England Patriots Pro Football Hall of Fame watch

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will induct the class of 2023 on Aug. 5. Here are members from the 2023 Patriots who could join the immortals in Canton someday.

Guaranteed Hall of Famers

Bill Belichick, head coach: It's not a hot take to write that the three-time Coach of the Year and eight-time Super Bowl champion is the greatest mind the sport has seen.

Belichick began his head-coaching career in 1991 with Cleveland, where he went 36-44 in five seasons before serving as an assistant for the Patriots and Jets. After being hired as Jets head coach in January 2000 and resigning the following day, Belichick bolted to New England, where he has been ever since.

In 23 seasons as Patriots HC and de facto GM, Belichick has guided the team to a 292-120 record, including playoffs, with nine Super Bowl appearances, winning six. New England has only missed the postseason five times during this historic stretch.

The 71-year-old has the most postseason wins of any coach in NFL history (31) but still trails former Dolphins HC Don Shula for the all-time wins record (347) by 18. Based on how the post-Tom Brady era has played out, it may take two to three more seasons for Belichick to accomplish this feat.

If New England remains stagnant after missing the playoffs twice in the past three seasons, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio believes 2023 may be Belichick's final year in charge.

Robert Kraft, owner: While Belichick and Brady were instrumental to New England's dynasty, it takes an owner who is equally committed to winning to put a high-quality product on the field.

Kraft purchased the Patriots for $172M in 1994, and since then, the team has gone 340-166 (including playoffs) and is one of the most respected franchises in the sport. Thanks to the team's success, Kraft's investment was well worth it as, according to Forbes, New England is the second-most valuable sports franchise in the world, estimated at $6.4B.

Despite Kraft being a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2023, the committee chose the late Chargers and Cardinals coach Don Coryell as the coaches/contributors finalist. Dallas' Jerry Jones was the last owner to be inducted into Canton, in 2017, but in due time, Kraft will undoubtedly be the next to receive this prestigious honor.
