Thornhill is officially listed as questionable for the game with a calf injury. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said yesterday after practice that the team would use the next 48 hours to see how his calf responds before determining his availability.
Thornhill returned to practice on a limited basis on Friday and Saturday after being held out of Thursday's practice session. Thornhill missed the season opener against Cincinnati which came down to a true game time decision. The team ran him through a brief pregame workout before determining it was best to hold him out of action.
Safety Rodney McCloud started in his place and played well as the Browns defense dominated the game against the Bengals. Thornhill has quickly become one of the team's most vocal leaders and has commanded the respect of his teammates and coaches since setting foot in Berea.
It would certainly be boost to have the key offseason acquisition starting alongside Grant Delpit against the Steelers. We will keep you posted if there are any official updates but things are lining up for Thornhill to be a full-go.
