The Las Vegas Raiders’ 4-3 record becomes impressive when you look at the number of injuries they’ve sustained. Even though the injury bug has struck their roster, they have been competitive throughout the season. This week though, wide receiver Bryan Edwards and cornerback Damon Arnette return to the lineup.

The Raiders released a fan favorite before the game

The Raiders have activated defensive tackle Daniel Ross from the Reserve/Injury list ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. In a corresponding move, they waived wide receiver Rico Gafford II. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the Wyoming standout has just suited up for three games and hasn’t caught a pass this year. If no other team claims him, he will then become eligible to sign with whomever he chooses.

On the bright side, the Raiders will get Bryan Edwards back in the lineup. After missing the last four games, he looked like his old self in practice this week. Thus, the decision to part ways with Gafford makes sense. Also, it will be one more week before we see Damon Arnette play his first game since undergoing thumb surgery.

The team ruled out defensive end Arden Key and defensive tackle Maurice Hurst on Friday, so it’s not shocking to see them on the Inactives list. Left tackle Kolton Miller tried to play but in the end, he will miss the game too. Meanwhile, cornerback Trayvon Mullen and running back Josh Jacobs will play even though the team listed them as questionable on Friday’s Injury Report.

Although guard Richie Incognito isn’t back in the lineup yet, he should return soon. The Raiders offensive line is better when he and right tackle Trent Brown, who is again on the reserve/COVID-19 list, are on the field. If the Raiders get them in a not-too-distant future, they will be in great shape to start a deep playoff run.
