The Los Angeles Rams announced on Thursday that starting left guard Joe Noteboom has gone on injured reserve due to a calf strain he suffered in last Sunday's 37-19 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN, lineman David Edwards will start in Noteboom's place. Noteboom must miss a minimum of three games on IR, per an agreement between the NFL and NFL Players Association. He can return when the Rams face the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 18.
The Rams selected Noteboom in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft and named him the team's starting left guard for the 2019 campaign. He appeared in six games last year until he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee and was lost for the year.
Edwards started all 10 games that Noteboom missed.
In a corresponding roster move, Los Angeles promoted practice squad linebacker Natrez Patrick to the main roster. Patrick served mostly on special teams last season.
