Steelers HC Mike Tomlin not interested in making practices more 'fun'

The Pittsburgh Steelers have dropped two consecutive games and fell to 5-5-1 on the season via this past Sunday's 41-10 blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh wide receiver Chase Claypool generated headlines coming off that result when he said adding music to midweek practice sessions could make them "more fun" for all involved.

Head coach Mike Tomlin spoke with reporters Tuesday and made it clear Claypool's suggestion is not under consideration heading into December.

As Allison Koehler wrote for Steelers Wire, Pittsburgh defensive end Cam Heyward also hit out at Claypool's idea during a Tuesday appearance on the WDVE Morning Show.

"I hope he was kidding because as soon as he said it, I was literally about to rip the speaker out," Heyward explained. "That is not what we need right now. It’s Xs and Os, and it’s execution."

Per ESPN stats, Claypool is second on the Steelers with 608 receiving yards and 69 targets, and he's fourth on the team with 37 catches. He's also contributed a single receiving touchdown and 52 rushing yards on eight carries.

Pittsburgh hosts the first-place Baltimore Ravens (8-3) this coming Sunday.
