Tackle Trent Brown: Raiders will be 'scary' this season

Right tackle Trent Brown expects the Las Vegas Raiders to surprise people around the NFL, as he feels they have one of the more talented rosters in the league.

"I feel like we definitely got better this year," Brown told the Fresno Bee. "We took strides last year and we’re going to continue to take strides and just put one foot in front of the other."

Brown signed a four-year, $66 million contract with the Raiders last offseason after starting his career with the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots. During his first season with the team, the Raiders went 7-9 but Brown believes that there is a lot of room for improvement, pointing to smart roster-building and drafting as proof of the team heading in the right direction.

"Even with the additions last year, me being one of them, you can look at those guys and trust the organization . . . to put the right players in place for us to win some games and win championships," Brown said. "With Henry Ruggs, and we still got one of the best backs in the league and we got the best offensive line in the league. I mean, it’s about to be scary. I’m excited. I definitely think it’s going to be special times in silver and black for years to come."

The Raiders have been far from great over the last several years, as they have only made the playoffs once since getting blown out at the Super Bowl in 2002.
