Tennessee Titans legend Eddie George shut down a growing rumor on Wednesday.
George, who played for the Oilers/Titans from 1996 to 2003 after a standout college career at Ohio State, is currently the head coach at Tennessee State. The Titans legend has served in that role since 2021.
The Buckeyes are in need of a running backs coach after Tony Alford, who held the position from 2015 to 2023, left to become the running backs coach at Michigan under new head coach Sherrone Moore.
Sources: Ohio State RB coach Tony Alford is expected to be the next running backs coach at Michigan. He's informed OSU officials that he's leaving. Football Scoop first reported him as a target.

Once that news broke, it didn't take long for fans/media to speculate that George could be a candidate to become the new running backs coach at his alma mater.
But according to Letterman Row's Tim May (who has covered Ohio State football since 1984), George won't be heading north to Columbus.
May tweeted on Wednesday afternoon that George told him he's not interested in the running backs coach job at Ohio State (May noted that current Tennessee State running backs coach Pepe Pearson is "likely" interested).
To nip one rumor in the bud, former @OhioStateFB Heisman-winning RB @EddieGeorge27 now @TSUTigersFB HC tells me he is NOT interested in now-open OSU rb job. But his current RB coach and former @OhioStateFB rb Pepe Pearson likely is.

George is entering his fourth year as the head coach at Tennessee State where he's gone 15-15 through his first three seasons.
Tennessee State enjoyed their first winning season under George in 2023, going 6-5 with a win over Big South–OVC co-conference champion Gardner Webb.
