Titans G Peter Skoronski recovering from burst appendix
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Titans rookie guard Peter Skoronski missed the last two games due to a ruptured appendix.

The 2023 first-round draft pick said he went to a Nashville hospital with discomfort on Sept. 16.

While he was at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, his appendix burst and he underwent emergency surgery.

"It ruptured, but they caught it basically," Skoronski said Wednesday, per ESPN. "I'm very appreciative of everyone there that helped me out. They did a great job, and I'm doing fine."

Titans coach Mike Vrabel said Skoronski has started doing some conditioning work to get back into playing shape.

Skoronski, who started at left guard in Week 1, is not likely to return this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

"It's frustrating," he said. "You want to be on the field as soon as possible, but you also don't want to be out there in a position where you can't do the right thing for your team."

The Titans drafted Skoronski, 22, with the 11th overall pick out of Northwestern.
