Watch: Dolphins' 'butt punt' pays off in thrilling win over Bills

Watch enough sports and you will eventually see something you have never seen before.

With that in mind, let's head to Miami for Sunday's Dolphins-Bills game where a "butt punt" may have actually helped the Dolphins hold on for a thrilling 21-19 win.

Here is the situation: The Dolphins were trying to run out the clock in the final minute after a goal line stand but were unable to get the football beyond the one-yard line. That resulted in a fourth-and-long situation that sent the punting unit onto the field.

Without the normal 15 yards of room for the snap things were a little cramped in the end zone for punter Thomas Morstead.

The result: He kicked the ball right off of his teammates butt and everybody laughed as the ball flew out of the back of the end zone for a safety.

The truly funny thing here? That probably helped the Dolphins. If Morstead gets the punt off normally it probably gives Buffalo good field position (maybe mid-field?) to give Josh Allen another opportunity to drive for a potential game-winning touchdown and leave little time remaining on the clock for Miami.

Even though the safety made it a two-point game where a field goal would win it for Buffalo, the free kick pinned the Bills deep in their own territory, and with no timeouts at their disposal were unable to drive into field goal range.

The Dolphins are now 3-0 and look like an early season contender in the AFC.
