will Romo win a playoff game

Hey yard, im a die hard cowboys fan. this year it only makes sense to picture Romo leading the Cowboys to a playoff victory. Seattle game back in 06 is something to forget about. and the gianst last year ofcourse was a heart breaker after finishing the season 13-3. but...the giants didnt only beat us, they beat the bucs, us, then the packers in lambou, and ofcourse the pats in the superbowl. so lest put the past behind us and talk about whats good this year. we no longer have julius jones, but barber is a better back. instead of the jones barber 1-2 punch now we have barber, felix jones. i believe that is a stronger 1-2 punch. jason witten is coming off a huge year. terell owens is coming off a huge year. patrick crayton is learning from t.o. and ofcourse terry glenn will help out the passing game if he stays with our organization. we have an amazing D. And Romo is learning more and more from his mistakes. With an offense, defense, and special teams that we have i know we will win a playoff game this year. if not superbowl. tell me what you think.

romo wont have his year yet....sure he is a good QB no doubt...but he forces the play...if u look at the giants game...there was 2 other open recievers in the endzone but he forced it in there and ended up with a pic...also...the seatle game..its not his fault he was a yard short..but if he would of held on the ball they would of won...or if he would of dived in...t.o is an over the edge wr that can get open and cause some serious damage but his age is a major issue...he wont be as productive...the cowboys will win 10-11 games...but will yet again get knocked out of the playoffs by whoelse then the philadelphia eagles...i can see it now...down by 4 with 1 second left...romo throws deep...ITS INTERCEPTED BY SAMUEL!! go eagles!! sorry jon lol

Yea its a little early to put the eagles in the same league as the Dallas Coowboys. lets remember now we are coming off a 13-3 season and the eagles are coming off a 8-8 season. its ok tho, i understand eagle fans are over cocky and feel they are the better team. lets not forget though that dallas leads the overall series between them. (53-42) not only that but we lead the playoffs (2-1). O and ffff-five superbowl rings to 0!

This is amazing. This kid brings stats, facts, and coherent arguments. Lots of our Eagles barkers have just met their match!

I had two, and Booger told me how to unblock, you and him, you by accident, and Booger too, as I like both of what you guys say...moving on, hence my last thread...see ya around for the League that is the NFL...and have a good weekend...peace

You forget my friend two things.......before the superbowl was called the superbowl, it was the champ game, and the eagles have a couple of those under their belt, and How many playoff games have the cowboys won since 1996 ZERO......including this past season where they were the first team in history to lose the first game of the playoffs being the top seed in the division. The cowboys are a good team, and they can do well but ROMO is a cocky little wuss who is more interested in getting ass from bimbos than winning football games. So No romo will not win a playoff game Just bring pressure and he'll throw the defense the ball. He nees to start earning that money he's been paid.....And I think My eagles have one their share of playoff games....They dominated the NFC east for the last 10 years......So rivalry is good but let's stop bringing up that you guys have a couple of rings. And those rings your talking about were won by much better players than you have now. So c'mon bro.....let's focus on this year and see who brings what to the table.........

the eagles have 3 of those championships:1948,1949,and 1960. but some reason people don't count those because it wasn't called the "Super Bowl" then. a championship is a championship no matter what its called.

everytime in 2006 to have a 13-3 season...lets see had a losing record in 07..could be the same with cowboys also the packers were 8-8 then went 13-3...and uve never experinced a super bowl win jon its been 12 years since u even won a playoff game

Romo is not a good quarterback. period. He's not even in the same category as Peyton Manning, Donovan Mcnabb, Brett Favre.

good stuff all, everyone getting Amped for ol' training camp...62490, hey, yeah though: have to put Brady in there over at least Favre, in the present...back to topic: Romo will win playoff game(s) as he is young and 10-25% raw still?, with a long upside career ahead, for a Franchise that signs QB weapons year in/out...I'm thinking, with that running game; combined with that O-line and Barber stiff-arming, doing his thing...12-4 season with a worst-case Romo 18TD/16INT season...Yet, however, the toughest division for next few years...double-edged for me, but thought I'd give 2 cents as an NFL fan...should be most entertaining division this year, hard-pressed to find another

Actually, 18 TD's would be a little disappointing, although I do know where you are coming from. Young QB with only a year-and-a-half under his belt. Defense beefed up and Felix Jones. Should be interesting.

Ah, that was my point...even if Romo had an unlikely lame season as stated in 08', DAL still going to be a better team than Philly...and the Giants as well

Terry "crystal glass" Glenn, if I was DAL fan, I would show him door so fast...always was a whiner here and down there...dude, have faith...DAL will be better, no doubt in my mind, as there will be good game plans that will find weaknesses in Philly D, and pick it apart later in season...let's see how they defend screens too...Dal Fans, just focus mostly on Giants, your main competition in that division...and yeah, DAL D no-one even acknowledges...they are very capable

Philly will have the usual good defense that is going to stuff a lot of teams, but I think we have the guns to beat them. I think they are underestimating OUR defense, too. They didn't exactly light up the scoreboard in either game last season. The Glenn cut is being overblown. If the Eagles want him and they can go for it. Got to cut losses and roll instead of paying $4M to someone who gave you 4-5 plays last season. Still think Giants will contend. Verdict still out on whether they just got on a good roll. They were a great road team all of last year and it served them well once they got into the playoffs.

Screen play could be a big part of the offense this year, especially against a bltizing team like the Eagles. Felix is going to play in the slot, at wideout, as well as in the backfield. His speed is much better than what Julius had. Pacman(Adam Jones) at receiver, too. I'm sure Garrett is already game planning for the big Monday night game here in Dallas.

Keep 'em coming. Remember, I like red and white. I'm a Sooner fan.

Hey, man. Get that one up above......it's only at -9. Hurry, need to even them out.

Brady's stats are inflated from last year, so they aren't a good comparison. But it looks to me like Romo is on par or better than those you mentioned. Stop hating because you're an Eagles fan and try an unbiased point of view.

that season you're talking about.... Mannin had his number 1 WR out for most of the season so his stats aren't quite where they would be normally. As well McNabb is coming off an injury that wasn't fully healed even at season's end.... so yeah it was a good year for Romo.... i'll give him respect when he puts up 8 more in a row just like the other guys you mentioned have done

*Manning

And I'm aware McNabb has a lack of weapons, but Brady has done it without them before

that is BS, Brady had multiple pro bowl WRs in the past.... no moss or Harrison but certainly a lot more help than Dmac

One thing I wonder when you say this...is it the QB that makes the receiver look good or the receiver that makes the QB...Example:
Where is Deion Branch now?
Who is Benjamin Watson?

just an fyi. I totally hate TB, he is really annoying. If the media didn't hype him up and he didn't date models then he would be ok I guess

Good point bzrO34! Alot of people think Brady had pro bowl receivers in the past but the truth is he never had a pro bowl receiver before last year. Even the receivers like Givens and Branch never amounted to anything once they left New England and Brady. Imagine what Brady could have done in his career if he had a pro bowl receiver before the age of thirty and didn't have to deal with the inclement weather in New England.

yeah you're right Troy Brown didn't go to the pro bowl ever....neither did Terry Glenn ( oh wait, yes they did)
Deion Branch, David Givens, and David Patten might not be the best but they sure as hell are better than Todd PInkston, James Thrash, Freddie Mitchell.
Brady had a better team around him in general.... and he made the most of it, thats for sure

Squish! Glenn did nothing with Brady. He was inactive for the first seven weeks in Brady's rookie season and then deactivated off the roster by Belechick for the playoffs. He did have great numbers with Bledsoe though. You are right about Troy Brown. Sorry! Troy Brown made it to the pro bowl in 2001 and never went back . Brady has had one pro bowl receiver for one year before Moss came to town. That's pretty amazing. The old Troy Brown reminds me alot of Brian Westbrook. They're two great players who are fun to watch. They do so much for their team.

is it possible also that Brady had no pro bowl WR for a few years due to him spreading the ball so well that nobody's numbers got inflated enough to earn the bid?.....
either way... when McNabb's best WR also has to carry the workload rushing you know it's a disadvantage.
we'll see how things pan out career-wise for these QBs only time will tell

I hear ya SoxA, Glenn was Bledsoe era...Reche Caldwell?...yeah, he's heading to the hall...so is Patten...Givens was good but has no knee now, and Branch was a career #2 WR at most...most NFL fans know this, that Brady never had Manning weapons, and the comparison to McNabb's weapons, that speaks for itself...good seeing whole picture SOXA...Troy Brown with his one career year...heard he is going to Canton after his vote for NE team HOF, sigh...oh, and let's not forget the huge running games Brady never had too...except Dillon for two years

yeah, good memory...props

props to bzrO34 if missed downtown on mini-thread

It's unbelievable Orions that people think Brady had all these pro bowl receivers . These players have done nothing without Brady since they have departed for their huge pay day. You're so right. He never had Mannings weapons and still won three superbowls before the age of thirty. I like McNabb but when you compare post season stats between the both of them, there's no comparison. This is a very strong Patriots team with a chip on their shoulder. I just got my opening day tickets against the Chiefs last week. They cost me a pretty penny but I have never been so psyched about an upcoming season.

Orions... the adults were talking!
go back to your corner
the discussion was who had the better WRs over his career.... McNabb or Brady.... Brady clearly had better WRs and TEs and anyone who knows a damn thing about football already knows this.
The argument wasn't for Manning, everyone knows he had all the weapons you could want.
nobody was saying any of these guys were going to be HOF material.... typical try to put words into someone's mouth to try and make a decent argument.....
yeah Brady had terrible RBs....Kevin Faulk plays his role(not the best ever but a staple for the team, give him some respect), Patrick Pass fit the Off. well also( still not great, but gets the job done) Larry Centers in 2003(best FB ever IMO), Corey Dillon in 2004-2006(thats 3 seasons genius.... and you call yourself a fan?), now Laurence Maroney...... thats not a bad list.
I see the NE Patriot fans now wanna look back and say Brady did it all by himself.... forget the great Def.... and his Off. supporting cast. Its a damn shame to see you guys disrespect the rest of your team.

yeah, that's funny Kelly Leak...I'm a man my friend, we know who the little cowards are, don't we you punk...sick of your crap coward jabs and strips...most on here know your an idiot...yeah, post was related to what SoxAddict was talking about, you biased egomaniac...let's see what you do now, will you be a man, or will you continue to be a coward...oh yeah, NE, never had a Westbrook, or nearly the Rushing weapons your almighty team had...and we NE fans do appreciate rest of team, I am looking for where it says "Brady does it alone"...who of us said that??

orions you should know better than to come at me with this BS....
just cuz your butt buddy's don't like me doesn't mean i'm bad..... it's your piece of crap blog buddies that made have to blog like this instead of being wonderful and civil...like you right?
I'd l ike to know what makes me a coward? cuz i call you out when you're wrong? try being right and then we'll talk about that.

Westbrook hasn't been around for McNabbs whole career....he wasn't even that spectacular when he entered the league, we developed him into the player he is and he changed to fit our style of Off.... i've said it before, when your top WR is also your starting RB you have a bit of a disadvantage... but hey what do i know.... can't know anything cuz i'm a po' little Eagles fan

I tried to be "in the box" squish with Philly articles, but wasn't allowed sir...never got the chance, so screw it...and yeah, I am with Fans on here that are civil-minded...just not this one team anymore...I don't see resolution...my point was asking myself? I initially posted decent posts on Philly articles and got sneakily dogged just because of who I root for...that's not how to blog...so, could care less as I struck a blow...never had an exchange with you, but I just know you have smoked my posts too many times, and sad as intentions used to be good with your team...and yeah, I see all sides: yeah, that is me, just not with one team

woah.... every non-Eagle fan gets blasted on any article... that isn't my fault.... it actually annoys the hell out of me too. I love how we love our team but i've seen some sad arguments from Eagles fans(not to mention the god damn trade rumors every Fckin day).
I do not know why i'm suddenly the face of Eagle-nation but I do think any discussion i enter is often not ridiculous.
I will take shots at a team or blogger if they're obviously an idiot or askin for it.(why people post a cowboys article in the Eagles category.... then get mad at all the boo- bird responses?)
you can hate my team(that's your right, but don't argue just for arguments sake).... and many of our idiot fans.... but don't hate all of us it just makes you look bad really

C'mon Squish, you have seen my decent posts...you being the face? I can't pin it on one person-that would be lame to do, and alot missed my point about SOME Eagles fans, not ALL...and incorrect, I don't hate ALL Philly fans, and don't hate your team...like said, our two teams aren't rivals...as far as last night, no-one knew really what my motive was, but alot of my points were proven...but whatever, it will be ugly on all sides this season extra...I'm ready...truth, are we to do it civilly most of time, or will it be full blown harshness?...I'm ready for both...to me, last night was funny more than anything...I really wanted to test the strength of the Philly majority on that thread...it was different type of thread, a bomb...and this is fact, Eagles represent is real strong...and many other points were proven...and was I being all 100% serious or was I curiously experimenting...noone will ever know my intent

it's fun for me either way.... his place is a great stress relief..... i spend more time laughing on here than anything.... some very creatice folks from everywhere

yo Squish, obviously the fallout today form "that thread" is pretty bad...hey, if this all doesn't blow over, just know that yeah, there is a fun element in this I agree, before I'm kicked off, whatever they do or I do...I apologized twice now on other threads, that's all I can do...never thought I would get the reaction I did, but was a good test for me...yeah, enjoy yourself dude, and just know I'm not this bad Eagle-hater with bad intentions...too bad, cuz football for us all in a month...that would have been fun again

LOLOLOL i love how u put mcnabb in that list. romo is the most talented qb in the nfc east. and one could argue that hes now the best in the nfc. donovan mcnabb....HAHAHAH

peyton manning and brett favre are elite. yes this is true. but mcnabb isnt better than tony romo. romo has a 19-7 record as a starter. he also has thrown for over 7,000 yards in those games. hes thrown 55 td's. 36 of which came last year. mcnabb isnt any where near romo as of now. o and madden doesnt lie. cowboys are 96 overall. and romo is a 94 on madden. he's a good qb so stfu

wow, were bringing madden in our arguments now?

LMAO!!!! MADDEN '09 IS GREAT AUTHORITY ON FOOTBALL!!!!

romo was 19-7 ehh? mcnabb was 20-6 in his first 2 seasons....that sounds better then romo...plus who does romo have on the left side? its t.o 36 tds came from romo last season...t.o had 15 take those away and romo had 21 tds...not too good...plus mcnabbs only had a good WR one time in his career and he went to the superbowl....romo cant even win a playoff game

yes sir... that about sums it up. Romo may someday be great.... but for now he's still in his trial period.... there are many ups and downs in a career, he started during an up.... i'm sure we'll see how he handles the downs.
